The morning after mother's funeral is the first time that I finally allow me and Jacobi to leave the room, because even though Jacobi is young, he still has to go to some daycare thing where they begin to teach him some basic things before he is thrown into school.

We head to the kitchen first to get some food to eat, and I am very happy when I see that none of my family members are among the few people in the kitchen who are eating. Jacobi goes and sits down while I go to get him some food.

I feel all of the stares on my back. Sadly, people remember me from the scene I made yesterday after the brunch for my own mother's funeral. I feel bad now for the way I was behaving yesterday. That wasn't any way for me to be acting after they had just buried their Luna, and my mother.

I look around for where Jacobi has chosen to sit, and I go to bring both of our plates over there. Only to be stopped on the way by a very muscular, unfamiliar male. Who seems a little pissed off.

"I'm sorry? Is there something that you needed or is it okay that I eat my breakfast in peace?" The man's nose twitched at my sarcasm but he doesn't step back from where he is standing, very close to my personal bubble if I am being honest, in front of me.

'I get that you are new around here, but that doesn't mean you get to go around and be a little shut when we are mourning our Luna. And disrespecting our alpha. I don't even want to know how you got away with the little stunt you pulled yesterday, but I just want to let you know that if you ever pull something like that again, I'll beat you up. Got it?" The man grinds out between his teeth.

I look around and see that everyone has stopped to listen to what is going on. You would think that people would mind their own business, or maybe step up and stand up for me, but everyone stays in there seat to see where this is going to go.

"I think that whatever goes on between me and the alpha, is my business and not yours, so I would like it if you and everyone else stayed out of my business, and I would never disrespect the Luna, if that is what I did then I'm sorry, but everything else I will not apologize for. Got it?" The man narrows his eyes at me before his gaze shifts to something over my shoulder. The frown on his lips turns into a twisted smirk to whatever he sees and he gestures behind me while smiling smugly.

"Then why don't you say it to his face?" I turn around to see my father, Logan, Lucas, and Jackson. They all seem to have been in a deep conversation as they were walking into the kitchen but now have their full attention focused on me and the man, who I still have no idea who he is, and the fact that we were very clearly talking about them. Well, the alpha at least.

"Can I please just go and eat in peace. I don't have time to deal with you and your little temper tantrum, so it would be very nice if......" I don't get to finish because the man swings and his fist connects to my face as I am turning around back to facing him. Both of the plates fall out of my hands as I stumble back from the man.

The kitchen is silent as my plates crash to the ground and I hold onto my aching cheek. I don't have time to see what everyone reactions are before Father is pushing between me and the man and shoving the man up against one of the tables.

"If you ever touch my son again, I swear to god you will never be able to walk again! Do you understand me?" The man's eyes are wide as he look between me and father before he is frantically nodding in agreement. Father narrows his eyes at him before shoving him away and taking a step back. His chest heaving as he fights back his apparent anger.

In all of my years of living in this pack, this is the first time Father has ever done something like this for me. The first time that anyone has ever really stood up for me before. Not even Logan, or mother, or myself if I really think about it.

"That goes for everyone!" Father yells as he turns to address the rest of the room. "If i find out that anyone has been harassing my son, i will have you dealt with in any way that I deem necessary to get it through your heads that you will not disrespect me and my family! Is that clear?" Everyone kind of shrinks in their seats as father yells at them. Sometimes i forget how much an alpha command can really control someone.

Someone rushed out from the hallway and cleans up the mess on the floor as everyone slowly begins going back to their food. Father huffs a final time before turning around to where i am standing, and my brothers only a little farther behind me.

"You didn't have to do that." I mutter as I look down at my hands. My face is already healing, but I know i must have a really ugly bruise, which i am sure that father is not going to want to see after the way he just reacted.

"Yes I did. You are my son, and it is about time that I started acting like it. I know i messed up before, but i really am going to try and make things right, starting with the fact that this pack will no longer torment you like they have been doing." Logan steps up behind me and swings his arm around my shoulders.

"All of us are. We should have paid more attention when we were younger to see the pain you were clearly in. I'm sorry, as the eldest brother i should have done more." I smile, somewhat shyly, at Logan before nodding shortly and squirming out from under his arm.

"Well, all of these feelings are kind of overwhelming, so I am going to get something to eat and sit down with Jacobi before he needs to get to his daycare stuff." i say as I begin to wall back over to the buffet lined up.

"We will come eat with you, get to know the kid who has already stolen your heart." Jackson teases as he, Logan, Lucas and Father follow me over to the line. I smile to myself after i turn around, maybe this won't be so bad after all.
