Chapter 16 - Great Pool Day

"If that's what you wish master."

It's been a week since the grand magic games. Sabertooth lost the games but won something far more important. Sting was a wonderful guild master. Of course that means he tried to skip every chance of doing paperwork. You chuckled at the thought.

Coming back to the present, you were humming to yourself as you made your way to the guild hall. It was eerily quiet as you entered the hall.

The hall was completely empty. There were clothes over the floor. You wondered about others as a huge splash was heard from somewhere in the guild.

You sprinted towards the noise curious to know its source and you found it.

"It's the Pool day!!!!"

Sting screamed like a five year old as he tackled Yukino into the pool. Water splashed everywhere.

"I haven't seen him this happy since a long time."

Rogue chuckled from behind you. You turned around to see your friend grinning at you. Everyone was in their swimming outfits. Only then did Yukino and Sting notice you.

"Hey [F/N] come join us!!!"

Yukino waved at you while splashing the little guild master with water. You laughed them.

"Okay! Let me go change!!"

You found the changing room and as you thought Yukino had bought you a swimsuit. It was a grey two piece that accentuated your lithe figure. You gathered up your hair in a messy bun and walked out. Only to find Yukino, Sting and Rogue missing. Orga was waving at you and Rufus was in a floater.

You laughed pointing at the latter.

"GAHAHAH!!! You can't swim??"

"Of course I can. I just find this floater awfully comfortable."

"Whatever. Where are the others?"

"Frosch went missing. So they left to find him."

WHAT!!!! Little Fro might be scared!!!

"I hope they find him. I'm kind of worried."

"Oh they will. Rogue will turn this town upside down if it means he finds Frosch."

"True."

You decided to enjoy the day in the pool. Frosch will definitely be back. He might have wandered off after a butterfly or something.

"I bet no other guild have a pool in their guild hall." Orga noted.

"Of course not." You said.

The pool was a wonderful idea, you concluded. Being in the water always energised you. You close your eyes and just float on the water enjoying the moment. Moments later a torrent of water came upon you. Someone had splashed you.

"Water woman got splashed, Ho ho ho."

Orga laughed loudly before a wave of water pulled him underneath the pool. He came up coughing and spluttering.

"So much for the lighting rod!!"

You laughed loudly. Soon it turned into a water fight between you and Orga. You took turns splashing each other and jumping on top of one other. Others chuckled at the duo having fun while a certain someone was green with envy.

Orga then lifted you up before leaving you to crash into the pool.

"Gah!! You will play for that you....!!"

You came up spluttering. But before you could do something Rufus carried you out of the pool. You were hanging from his shoulder as he turned towards the corridors.

"Hey! Put me down Rufus!!"

You shouted punching his back. He gently put you down and observed you. You were busy scolding him for carrying you off. He watched the light that reflected off the water droplets that adorned your body. Suddenly he couldn't hold it in.

"Oh Shut up."

He grumbled as he bought you closer and kissed you. It didn't take long for you to ease into the kiss. His warm lips perfectly fitted yours. Your tongues danced in a sensual dance. Then he pulled away.

"What was that?"

You whispered as you just realized what had suddenly happened. Rufus simply chuckled and pulled you closer gazing at your [E/C] orbs.

"[F/N] your my best memory. You're the best thing that ever happened to me. Will you be my girlfriend?"

You had imagined this scene playing out a thousand times yet you couldn't believe that your childhood friend, your crush since god knows how long, was actually asking you out.

You closed the distance and reconnected your lips. When the need for oxygen pulled you apart you whispered.

"Of course you dummy. What took you so long?"
