Fact - The "Fire Mummies of the Philippines" are a group of shrunken corpses who have appeared to have been forced into tiny containers. However, it is believed the effect was achieved by having the dying person ingest a very salty drink and, after the person had died, their bodies would be smoked on a fire. Tobacco smoke would then be blown into their mouths to shrink their insides.
