Fact - Lingchi, roughly translating to "death by a thousand cuts," was a Chinese torture method where the subject would have different parts of their body removed over a long period of time. The practice, reserved for only the most severe crimes, was outlawed in 1905.

Place - Villisca Axe Murder House (508 E 2nd Street, Villisca, Iowa)
In 1912 an entire family was murdered here by axe, and it is said that the house is still haunted by their spirits. The house has been investigated and featured on the TV show Ghost Adventures.
