Fact - A set of keys for the locker that contained a pair of binoculars could have saved the Titanic. The officer for the ship's crow's nest was replaced at the last moment, taking the keys with him. At the official inquiry into the disaster, a surviving member of the crew said that if the lookouts in the crow's nest had had keys (and therefore the binoculars) they would have been able to see the iceberg sooner and possibly avoided the disaster.

Inmates and guards alike agree that there are spirits abounding in the Jefferson Correctional Institution. Some inmates feel someone tapping on them while they sleep – others see ghostly children playing in the dormitory. A ghostly man on a horse is occasionally seen outside.
