Chapter 15:

Jazmine

"I made some shrimp and crab legs. I know how you love ya seafood so come make you a plate," Mama Carmen said as she was making Pops a plate.

I just came to talk to her about Kjayy's birthday which is tomorrow to make sure everything is in place since we are having the party in their backyard tomorrow.

"Umm no I'm not hungry," I lied, I was hungry as hell. I just can't eat seafood lately without getting sick. Plus all I want is bacon.

I still didn't tell anyone I was pregnant yet and I don't think anybody suspects anything because I'm barely around. It's hard to hide now tho because I am 4 going on 5 months now and my bump isn't as small anymore. I plan on telling Jay tomorrow before the party so he doesn't have a chance to snap on me until after the party.

I thought back on the first couple of weeks when me and Jay broke up. He would show up everywhere, my house, shop, anywhere to try to talk to me. I would never let him in and I would ignore him. I knew that I would give in too easily to him so I avoided him. After I snapped on him telling him give me time until I'm ready to talk he did, but the texts never stopped. Even tho the only time I replied was when it had something to do with Kjayy. He was consistent though. I liked that, but I still don't like him.

I sighed out loud. I think now is the time to tell mama since she's looking at me like I'm crazy right now for turning down her food.

"Um, mama, I have something to tell you. Um, I, uh-"

"How many months?" she interrupts me.

"H-how did you know?" I ask surprised.

"You are always begging me to make you something seafood and the past couple times I make it you turn it down." She flagged me off. "Plus I know my kids. So how many months?"

"5 months on Tuesday," I mumbled.

"Jazmine Michelle!" she shouted.

"I know, I know."

"You need to tell him." She came over and lifts my shirt up showing my stomach and rubs it. "Your stomach is huge to be five months."

"I know it was huge with Kjayy at this point."

"So who else knows or you didn't tell anyone?"

"Only Joelle," I said before thinking.

"What!? Joelle Jayce King!! Come here now!" Mama Carmen shouted.

"No, mama, I made her promise not to tell anybody."

"Yeah, Mom?" Joelle said as she came into the kitchen.

"You knew Jaz was pregnant and didn't tell me?" Mama Carmen asks.

"See what happen was," she started then looked around and ran out the kitchen screaming, "Daddy!"

I couldn't help, but laugh but stopped when Mama Carmen sent me a glare.

I decide that since Mama Carmen knows now I might as well tell X and Shay. So I decide to text X.

Me: Can you come over?

Oh now you wanna fuck with ya big bro?.. be there in 10. Was his reply.

I was on IG as I waited for X. I haven't posted a picture in months. I saw I kept getting tagged in a picture Ace uploaded. I looked and saw he posted an old pic of me from my birthday at the pool in a bikini.

"Shout out to KINGIN you fucked up big time dawg, these niggas gonna be at her left and right 😂. I'ma continue to rub this shit in ya face. #thatslittlesischill"

I shook my head at his pettiness. I continued to scroll seeing a picture King just uploaded.

He put a picture of me and him at the pool he had his hand covering my lady parts as he licked my neck and I had a big smile on my face laughing.

"these niggas know that's ALL King right there and always will be. Fuck outta here dawg."

I was smiling at the memories then frowned as I sighed thinking about where we are now. Just then Xavier came through the door going right to the fridge.

"What's up lil sis? Where Kjayy?" he asked while going through my fridge.

"He's with Jay getting his birthday outfit."

He nodded. "So what's up?"

"I have something to tell you. You know I love you right?"

He looked at me with a blank expression. "What? You always start like that when you know whatever you're gonna say is gonna piss me off. I love you too. Now what's up?"

I nodded because he's right. "Well I'm um, I'm pregnant," I said deciding to just spit it out and he just continued to stare at me with a blank face. "Um almost five months actually." I lift up my baggy shirt to show him.

He looks at my belly then back at me. He stared then got up and leaves without saying a word.

I put my head down placing my palms over my eyes. I don't like for Xavier to be mad at me. I know it hurts him when I hide shit from him. He didn't talk to me for awhile years ago when I let Kordell see Kjayy after multiple failed attempts.

I stood there in a daze until my phone started ringing. I answer without looking. "Hello?" I said in a hoarse voice.

"Tell me it's not true that my little sister is pregnant and she didn't tell her best friend," Shay's voice said through the phone.

I couldn't even say anything because all I heard was hurt in her voice.

"Shay I'm so-" click. She hung up.

I know if they're hurt I know Jay is going to be pissed.
