hallucinate //ˈluːsɪneɪt//verb//
experience a seemingly real perception of something not actually present, typical of a mental disorder or of taking drugs.

In my dreams
you appeared, last night,
so carefree,
a breath of sunshine
blended with your laughs,
without a frown,
that you usually sport,
I asked you the colour of your eyes.
You laughed again,
And I just kept staring back at you,
Awed by your real beauty,
you leaned in,
and whispered so lightly,
softly,
"it's golden, actually, but it turns into brown sometimes,"
and you laughed again,
And I couldn't decipher what you meant,
Until I looked into your eyes,
And I saw the whole world, so wide,
so alive,
lighted up with little golden flecks,
I couldn't just look away,
And you just laughed away,
It felt as if I was
hallucinating.

While we were sitting in a park,
And I was wondering,
that why had I never seen before,
this version of you, so carefree,
like the earth wasn't toppling over you,
you tossed a sunflower my way,
along with a grin, that covered your face,
and soon it came upon mine, too.
You pointed towards the sunflower in my lap,
and said,
"you know, it always faces the sun, and I was wondering, if I could be a sunflower,
would you be my sun?"
When these words left your mouth,
I felt like I left the ground,
and you looked like you were about to laugh at my face,
because I'm sure, I looked so red,
I felt as if I was
hallucinating.

Beautiful,
The sunlight that was falling on your face,
highlighted every crest and curve,
every little detail,
from the little black spot above your lips,
to the lashes that gently caressed your cheeks.
The hair that fell on your forehead,
into which, I wanted to run my fingers
and feel everything about you,
to know all of you,
honestly, I had never seen you look so
beautiful,
like the angels from above the clouds,
bestowed you with their beauty,
their innocence,
so much purity.
Eyes, filled with every colour of love,
and when your gaze landed on me,
It felt as if all the air was sucked out of me,
like I didn't deserve someone so beautiful,
It felt as if I was
hallucinating.

That version of you,
is still embedded in my head, even when I woke up.
I know reality varies,
but sometimes, it's easier to live in your dreams,
because,
when it comes to you,
I know that I am
hallucinating.
