HOMECOMING

By the window of the bus

All colours blended in with the air

And my hair

Swayed along with my thoughts

That drifted back and forth

In between an urge to see you

And to never see you

Again

Because all I get are

Memories of us that were long ago

Drained in vain.

But whatever it takes,

Even a thousand mistakes,

Or if I had to cross lakes,

Filled with snakes,

For you, I can raise higher the stakes.

Because in the end, I'll stay awake,

In your lap, mom,

entwined with the familiar scent

Of your sweet cupcakes.

So catch me whenever I'm low

Hold me and make everything slow,

The world is bad mamma

When you are miles away, you know.

Every little blow

Makes me want to never let go

And crawl back in your arms

With tears ready to flow.

Coming home to you

Is the only thing I wish.

Coming home to you

Is like too many cherries in a small dish.

Coming home to you

Is my eternal bliss.

So mother,

I'm coming.

Homecoming.
