Chapter 30

The Harlow girls had ordered their dresses for the BellTown Meltdown Ball and they had finally arrived at their front door. Bethany did her best to sneak into her room with her dress, she didn't want Zach to see it. Even when Joey and him went tuxedo shopping and he asked various times for the color of her dress, she didn't give it to him. She wanted to surprise him.

Once, in the Asylum Zach had told Bethany that 'her color' was blue, royal blue. Despite her believing purple fit her skin tone better, she bought a royal blue dress. And she loved it. It was a long dress that flowed down to the ground. It had a deep v-neck that her parents would maybe not entirely approve of but they weren't seeing the dress until she had no other option but to wear it anyway. She was going to wear a diamond choker and matching open-toed heels that were leveled up to her ankles.

When it was time to get ready, Adelaide popped into Bethany's room and showed her the dress she had bought. It was a dramatic yellow colored dress with a sweetheart neckline. It was very long as well, it covered her golden sling-back heels.

"Adelaide," Bethany gushed. "Oh, it's such a pretty dress. You're going to look lovely."

"Thanks," she replied. "Uh, Beth. I was wondering if you could maybe do my makeup?"

Bethany faced her sister and smiled warmly at her baby sis. "Sure, I'd love to, A."

Mrs. Harlow and Grandma Maggie walked into Bethany's room. The girls were almost done getting ready, Bethany just needed to put on her dress and heels, and find her red lipstick, but it was no where to be found.

"She can't find her stupid lipstick and she's freaking out." Adelaide caught up her mother and grandmother.

"Oh, darling. You don't need it. You have very pink lips, just put on some lip balm." Grandma Maggie walked over to Bethany. "All that makeup," she shook her head and sighed. "It's not you."

"It's a ball, Grandma. With people. Judgmental people. I have to find it or else my whole outfit is ruined." She whined. She was suddenly distracted by what her mother and Maggie were wearing. "Wow, you guys look hot." She commented.

Her mother was wearing a burgundy dress that stopped right below her knees, she paired it with black pumps. And her grandmother wore a black skirt and a orange scoop neckline top with a matching black round neckline jacket, which appeared seemingly light. Too fragile to walk in heels, she wore flats on her feet.

"Thank you," Maggie and Michelle answered.

"Okay," Beth muttered, winking at them. "I'm going to go look for my lipstick. I could've left it downstairs."

She really did look everywhere. But she couldn't find it. It had vanished.

"Looking for something?" Zach asked, showing out of no where.

Beth turned at his voice and noticed him in his classic tuxedo. She felt her knees buckle. God, he's so hot, she thought.
