My Love For You

*still Serena's pov*

The next day me and the girls hung out at the park. Darien and Rini came too. It's always nice when we all hang out together, I thought happily. "Earth to Serena." Darien said, waving his hand in front of my face. I chuckled, snapping out of my thoughts. "Sorry," I answered, "Just thinking. It's nice when we can all hang out like this. No worries, no monsters to fight, nothing to break the peace." Darien looked at me and asked, "And no bullies to anxiously avoid?" I nodded. "Yeah." I sighed, happy everything seemed to be going a whole lot better. 

"Hey love birds! Come on and join us!" Mina called to us. Darien laughed, picking me up bridal style and causing me to squeal in delight. Once we reached everyone else Darien set me on my feet. Faking annoyance, Umara said, "Finally you two decide to grace us with your presence." At that we all chuckled while I replied, "Well excuse me for wanting to relax with the love of my life." A dreamy expression came over my face. "He's just so sweet, caring, loving and above all, kind to those around him. Him being good looking is just a bonus." 

Rei cocked an eyebrow. "Well someone needs a cold shower."  I rolled my eyes, grabbing my guitar. I played a tune I picked up years ago. My mom would hum this then say, "When life throws you to the wolves come back the leader of the pack." Now I'm living that advice out. I began to sing.

The words you say have an impact

Beware the way you act

You just might hurt someone and that's a fact

This is a true story to be told

I was happy-go-lucky till that day

Somebody pointed out my flaws

Hurting me with the words they say

The way I dress ain't against the law

But they didn't give a damn

Throw me to the wolves and I'll be back, leading the pack

I gave up so much just to fit in

Acted like I was in someone elses skin

It was a battle I could never win

Leaving me going cold       

I was happy-go-lucky till that day

Somebody pointed out my flaws

Hurting me with the words they say

The way I dress ain't against the law

I just wanted to be accepted

But being known wasn't what I'd expected

It was all an act that had been perfected

It soon got so old
