I sighed and stared up at the ceiling.

This is literally the most boring thing I could probably be doing right now.

But you know what?

I'm gonna enjoy it. Who knows when the next time I can lay down and relax is gonna be?

This place has those barriers. And I'm guessing there are some around the house...

Since they haven't been killed and eaten in their sleep that's probably a good guess.

But I'm probably pretty safe here. Probably safer than Camp.

Why would it be safer than Camp you may be wondering.

Two words.

No Stolls.

Or would I have to count that as a word and a name?

No idea.

But hey, I'm staring at a ceiling without fear of getting pranked.

There was a knock on the door. Which for the record, I was too lazy to answer.

"Percy?" Bracken walked in. "Oh good, you're awake. Kendra and Seth wished to see if you'd accompany us to the pond."

"No thanks. I was just about to fall asleep."

He nodded and left the room.

I kinda want to go...but keeping my identity a secret...while in an area probably filled with naiads...

You see how that could end badly don't you?

My whole life is just made of keeping secrets.

Except I for some reason told Dad how I really was...I don't understand that.

But keeping Mom and Paul from knowing how I am...well I kinda ruined it with Paul...but you know. He might just think that I was being dramatic or something.

It does run in the family.

Anyway...

Keeping everyone from knowing I'm a demigod.

Keeping everyone from knowing exactly what happened in the Pit.

And it's not likely that I'll catch any breaks soon.

I turned over and closed my eyes.

Maybe I can get a good night's sleep for once.

"Come on Seaweed Brain." Annie grabbed my hand and pulled me along after her.

"I'm coming, I'm coming Wise Girl. No need to be so pully."

She turned around and stared at me before shaking her head and bending to press a quick kiss to my lips.

"Do you have to rub it in that you're taller than me?"

"You're just mad because your short."

"I'm average height for a girl of my age. You're just absurdly tall."

She clicked her tongue. "So you do know big words."

"You sound like your mom."

She smiled and went to say something, then...

Things went to Hades.

I felt a sharp pain in my gut. I looked down.

An imperial gold cavalry sword...

"Why didn't you protect us?" Annabeth hissed. "Our lives meant that little to you?"
