The bangs,
The pops,
The shouts,
The cheers.
Color flickers,
Embers spreads,
Missiles fly.
Crowd goes wild,
Cool formations,
Sporadic booms,
Incredible lights.
Show nears end,
Shells rise and explode,
Faster, faster still,
Boom boom, boom boom.
Sky lights up bright,
Adding daylight, to the night,
Crowd hoots, crowd claps.
Show over,
Sky goes dark,
Crammed bodies,
Trying to all leave the park.
Packed streets,
Happy crowd,
Fireworks are over,
Were they too loud?

So what do y'all think? I haven't written much poetry recently, so sorry if this isn't as good as my poems used to be...but please do leave feedback. And, if you haven't guessed, this is inspired by July fourth and the 19 minute long firework display I saw in Burlington, Vermont over the holiday. You can see some of the clips I took of the fireworks show in the video below. It is a little less than seven minutes long but has some small clips that I took throughout the whole display. Anyway, back on topic, happy Independence Day everyone!!! Stay safe and have fun even though it is probably over for most of you lol!!
