"Two packs of cigarettes please?" I asked, putting the money on the counter.

"ID please." The employee said rudely.

"Why?" I asked, the old shop keeper always sold them to me.

"You look too young to be smoking." He said harshly, I rolled my eyes; he looked younger than me.

"And you look too young to be even working." I said, he rolled his eyes too.

"ID please." He said again with more force than last time.

I cursed under my breath, and left the shop in a huff.

It wasn't that I was addicted to smoking, it was just nice.

The next day I went to the same shop, the old shop keeper working there today.

"Hey Younghyun-ssi, two packets of cigarettes please." I said, he looked like the brother of the guy from yesterday.

He shook his head.

"Sorry (y/n), we've got to ID now." He said, tapping the notice which had been hand written.

"Fuck this." I said, leaving and going home.

The next day, I walked into the same shop, this time not to buy cigarettes but to buy drinks for my friend who was staying over.

"Just these two drinks." I said, putting the fruit teas on the counter, the shop keeper taking them.

I looked up to see the younger boy, I read his name tag, he was Jisung.

"No cigarettes today?" He asked smirking, and I noticed the post-it note notice had been taken down.

"I'm 18, I can buy fucking cigarettes bitch." I said to him, showing him my ID, "But no, not today."

He looked down, a little guilty.

It wasn't that I was annoyed I couldn't buy cigarettes because I forgot my ID both days.
I was just frustrated that anyone could be so rude to me.

"(Y/n)..." He said as I took the drinks after paying.

"How do you know my name?" I asked, as I was about to leave.

"Younghyun-hyung..." He said, I scoffed.

"Don't talk to me rude bitch." I said, taking my drinks and I left, leaving him shocked.

The next few weeks flew by, school was tough, and I completely overcame my stupid smoking past time.
I was so naive to believe smoking was cool, what an idiot.

I entered the corner shop which I hadn't done in about a week, going to get a paper for my dad, a couple of drinks, ramyeon and bread.

Today's server was Jisung.

Great.

"Is that all?" He asked, looking in my eyes, I looked away.

"Yeah, that's it thanks." I said, smiling weakly.

I heard something fall onto my buys, it was a packet of cigarettes.

I smiled weakly still, handing them back but saying thank you.

"I don't do that anymore." I said, he nodded and put them back in the rack.

I left the shop, hearing someone running behind me.

I turned around, seeing Jisung following me, pulling on his jacket.

"Why are you following me?" I asked, he smiled.

"I wanted to ask what happened?" He asked, with a uneven smile.

"I gave up, simple." I said, he looked proud.

"Why are you so cocky bitch? You're probably the rudest person I've ever met." I said, it was an exaggeration, but he was being annoying.

"I did something right, I saved your life." He said, smiling.

I couldn't help but smile to myself, which thankfully he didn't catch.

"Don't you have to work?" I asked.

"No, Younghyun-hyung is,
My shift finished 5 minutes before you came in." He said, I was a bit shocked.

"You stayed on, to serve me?" I asked,
confused.

"You intrigue me." He said nonchalantly.

"I'm glad someone takes an interest in my life." I said, nodding.

"I'm glad to be that person." He said, smiling like an idiot.

"You're cute." He said, pinching my cheeks as I stared at him.

I punched his arm hard and he stopped pinching me.

"Ow, and feisty." He said, chuckling at this.

"Maybe you should have told me to just stop smoking?" I asked.

"Does anyone listen to an order? If I had told you directly, that annoying bitch in you would do the opposite, don't you think? Being indirect is the best way." He said, I nodded.

"Come on (y/n), let's get you home." He said.

"I can walk home myself." I said, he chuckled.

"I know, but I want to talk to you." He said, I blushed slightly and he followed me, chatting away, as we went to my house.
