Harry POV

I bit the inside of my cheek as I looked at my schedule. Shit. I have maths first. I was horrid at math, and it didn't help that it was the middle of the year. I'd never be able to understand what the teacher was trying to teach. But I decided it didn't matter. I wasn't going to get anyway in life, so there is no reason for me to really know any math. I slowly walked into the classroom. I saw a plump, old man standing by the board.

"Um, excuse me." I mumbled slowly standing behind him. He turned to me surprised then a grin appeared on his face. I was taken back by his sudden happiness about seeing me. I mean, it's only...me.

"Ah, Mr. Styles! I've been expecting you!" He started, rubbing his hands together then spread them out welcoming, "Welcome to math class! Haha, I bet you won't get greeted like that in English class! Maths has always been better then any other subjects, wouldn't you agree?"

"U-um...I-I" I gulped nervous. I couldn't help but be a little scared of him. Would he hit me if I answered wrong? I know that most people would agree with him but I've seen this type of trick before. They ask you a question with their opinion obviously in it, so when you have the same opinion they hit you claiming that you were lying. They would say they wanted you to tell them the truth. However, that's how they got you. The next time they ask a smilier question and if you answer truthfully; you'll get the same painful outcome, this time claiming that you were suppose to agree with everything they say. They never wanted the truth, the truth was never important to them. I couldn't help but despise the truth. I couldn't tell whether that fact was sad or not.

The bald man started laughing a warm, hearty laugh while grabbing his round belly. "I am only messing with you, lad! There's no need to look so terrified. I know most people not like math, but that's alright with me! Luckily I don't get payed to teach students, such as yourself, to like math. I'd be a hobo on the street by now if that were true!" He laughed again but then suddenly stopped and looked at me serious. "Now, Mr. Styles, around here I am known as Mr. S. I am here to help you if you need any help. I want my students to feel good about their math skills. I don't know how far you've got in math at your old school, but if you aren't where we are, I can get you a tutor. If you need one, just come and ask me. I have the perfect one in mind." Mr. S taped his nose before telling me to grab a seat where ever I wanted.

I turned around and started to chew the inside of my cheek again. I didn't want to choose the wrong seat. At my old school if you sat in someone's seat, you had a one way ticket to the nurse's office. That's somewhere I would rather advoid. I shook my head. C'mon Harry, stop over thinking everything! They said that you didn't have to worry about such things anymore! They said that you were safe now. However, I couldn't help but think that the police and doctors were wrong. They didn't know what it was like out in the real world. They seemed too lost in their make believe one. Something anyone in my shoes would beable to spot a mile away.

Brrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng

The bell rang signaling that it was time for class to start. I looked around the classroom doing my best to ignore the curious stares. Making my face go blank of any emotions, I slowly made my way to the only desk that didn't appear to be claimed by a student. Once I made it to my desk, Mr. S started the lesson.

What. The. Fuck. Is. He. Trying. To. Teach. Me. Maths class was about to end and I hadn't a clue of what Mr. S was trying to get across. It was like he was teaching a whole different language! How the hell was I suppose to figure out the problem when there was only one number in the entire thing!? Steve was right, like always! I was a dumb ass! I would never amount to anything in life! The bell rang again signaling that it was tell to leave for the next class. I slowly got up and put my stuff away, feeling discombobulated with all these numbers and letters floating around my head. I started to the door when I heard my name.

"Mr. Styles, could I have a word with you?" Mr. S' voice rang out throughout the room. I nodded and turned to face him. To my astonishment, I saw another boy standing next to him. He had a warm smile, that I couldn't help but be a little wary of, and his big brown eyes were as equally as warm, if not warmer. He also had light brown hair that was swept to the side a bit. I made my way back over to the two men smiling at me. I shivered a little thinking of the times when I thought people were nice but had turned out to just be almost as bad as Steve. They had the same kind of smiles, for they had practiced it to make sure it looked real and believable. Never again will I fall for that again. "I couldn't help but notice that you were struggling today in class.  I am aware that my class has always gone a bit faster then most other schools, and I don't want you to fall behind even more. I have asked Mr. Payne here, if he would be willing to tutor you and he has agreed. I hope you would agree with asking him for help?"

I tensed up when I heard his last name. Payne? Now I knew there was no way that he wasn't going to beat me up. As much as I wanted to tell Mr. S no, I knew better than to deny someone something. "O-OK..." I murmur looking down at the ground. My curly hair fell into my eyes, as I looked up to fix them, I couldn't help but notice a small frown on the other boy's face. Although, Mr. S just looked like he won the lotto. He seemed like a very easy man to please. I quickly looked down once more; not wanting to upset the boy any more. The angrier they were, the harder they hit. Even I could understand that.

"That's wonderful! I would like you guys to start the sessions tonight!" Mr. S clapped his hands then looked at the clock. "Oh, time flys when you're having fun, eh boys? You two better get going before you're late for class!" He dismissed us. Payne stepped forward towards me with the smile back on his face. He stuck out his hand.

"Hi, I'm Liam Payne." He introduced himself fully but with so much happiness you would have thought he had gotten a puppy unstead of getting stuck with a stupid kid. I cautiously shook his hand.

"I'm Harry Styles." I replied as we started out of the classroom. I took out my schedule to see my next class.

"What class do you have next?" Liam asked peering over my shoulder. I tensed up from how close he was behind me. "That's great! You have English next with me! C'mon I'll take you there!" Liam led me through the maze like hallways. It's a miracle no one has ever gotten lost here. Well, I don't know that for sure, but then again maybe I was just too much of an idiot to realize how easy these hallways were really to find your way. We quickly arrived to another room and it was mostly full by the time we got there.

"LI-LI!' A voice called before a blond boy attacked Liam. I breathed in sharpily until I realized that he wasn't attacking him, but hugging. My breath broke the boy out of his trance as he pulled away from Liam and looked me up and down with a goofy grin. "Hi! I'm Niall! Niall Horan!" He stated proudly. I tilted my head a little when I realized he had an Irish accent. It was quite adorable, really. It seemed to fit his bubbly character.

"I-I'm Harry Styles," I studdered. Niall nodded as if he was really excited to learn anything, and everything about me. But who would be excited to learn anything about me? My eyes widened and my body become ridged when I suddenly felt two strong arms wrap their way around my torso. My arms stayed at my side as I tried to get over the shock of Niall hugging me. Niall quickly figured out that I wasn't going to hug him back anytime soon and he pulled away from me. He looked at the ground shamefully, and I could see the hurt swimming in his blue eyes.

"I'm sorry, Harry. I shouldn't have hugged you..." He said. Oh god, he sounded so broken. Guilt quickly overwhelmed me. I wanted to somehow comfort the boy, but I had absolutely no clue how. Luckily for me, Liam came to the rescue.

"C'mon guys lets go get our seats. Class if about to start." Liam started as he put his hand on Niall's shoulder. He looked between both of us worriedly, and opened his mouth to say more. I, however, walked away before he could say something. I started biting down on the inside of my cheek again, something I did whenever I was nervous. Now I was in for it. Liam was going to beat me to a pulp for making his friend sad. For the rest of the class, I couldn't help but think of how badly Liam was going to make me pay.
