I woke up the next morning, earlier than usual, excited and a little bit nervous for my interview.
"You'll be fine," Ryan told me.
He grabbed his keys from the kitchen worktop.
"I'm sorry, I'm running late for work, and Mam is so annoying about punctuality."
He then leaned in and kissed me gently on the cheek.
"I love you," he said. "I'll see you later."
I smiled at him.
"Good luck," he added, as he left the apartment.
I didn't think that the interview went as well as it could've. My nerves got the better of me, and I don't think I came across as confident enough as I was speaking to my boss. As I left the interview room, I felt disappointed in myself for not hiding any doubts I had about my ability to be good in the role I had applied for. It got to me, because I was usually pretty good at portraying myself as confident in times I didn't feel it.
