I felt the cold breeze slip through the small windows of the café. It was getting late and it was time for me to leave. I had been here all day trying to finish up assignments for the coming week.

I looked over at the cozy conserved window seat and caught sight of Chilwu who seemed to be napping on the table.

I walked over her, took a seat next to her, and observed her face upclose once more after a long time. Her jet black hair had fallen effortlessly on her forehead. She silently breathed in and out and I could tell she had been exhaused, she looked tired and beat down. How long has it been since she had properly slept? I wanted to comfort her, I wanted to talk with her and tell her stories and just spend time in her presence.

I took off my jacket and slowly laid it on her sleeping physique. Sleep tight. I silently whispered to her. I moved a strand of her hair away from her face and took one last deep look at her. I didn't want to wake her, but I had to leave so I slowly got up and left her comfortable presence and was once more accompanied by the cool night air.

I wish I could stay next to her forever.
