It was eight o'clock.

Translation: I'm meeting up with Dmitri and his crew right now.

I looked in my mirror one last time before I left. My brown eyes were lightly lined with eyeliner and light mascara. My lips were pink and the expression on my face was like a deer caught in the headlights. I was so scared and happy to be visiting the human world once again.

I wore black jeggings with three inch heels (I didn't wear really big heels just in case we were running) and a red hoodie on top. I sighed. This was going to be an exhilarating night.

A knock sounded on my door so I rushed to open it. I could sense Austin before I even opened the door. That was how strong out connection was. I sighed, thinking about my plan of leaving since he was getting married.

"Hey," I said, smiling as I opened the door. I was surprised to see he was wearing a tuxedo and had his hair done.

He gave me a weak smile and brought out his arm, offering it to me. I took it by the elbow and we began to walk down many flights of saris to the mail foyer.

"Please be safe," He said so quietly I almost missed it.

"You know I will," I said, smiling and squeezing his hand.

He shook his head. At the end of the staircase, he used his speed to corner me into a corner out of sight from the front of the castle doors. My breath caught in my throat.

"Dont. Leave. Me." He spoke in his deep vampire voice that he's used when we first met. "Don't."

I stared at him, completely and utterly shocked. My tongue became thick and it suddenly became very hard to speak.

Taking a chance, I pushed him off me slightly so that I could see his clothing once again.

A tuxedo.

"You're meeting Charlotte," I said, wincing when I realized how cold and jealous my voice appeared to be.

His eyes turned black for a second before he took a step away from me. "It's unavoidable. Custom. Vampire custom. We have some unfinished business."

I looked at the far wall's clock in the hall. It's wood was sheer and smooth looking while the clock face was covered in an intricate designed glass. It was 8:10 now.

"I'm late. Have fun," I said, pushing him aside and rushing to the front doors. Hot fire rumbled and threatened to spill out of my chest. How dare he! Ugh, it was frustrating.

I threw open the doors and was slightly disappointed when Austin didn't follow me. I saw a black Porsche waiting at the end of the castles runway.

I started to walk to the car when the headlights suddenly turned on and the engine revved to life. It started to slowly pick up speed as it came into the runway headed right in the direction of... Me.

Fear split my insides and I had a hard time moving. I stood there as the car raced towards me. These would be my final moments.

The Porsche was only a few metres away.

I screeched when the car suddenly stopped, inches away from my legs. They almost killed me! The windows were stained so I couldn't see the drivers face. I had no doubt in my mind that it was Dmitri.

I stomped over to the drivers side of the car and waited for the window to scroll down.

As it rolled down, I heard loud laughs and comments thrown at me. Dmitri was in the drivers seat, laughing his vampire ass off.
