"Miles, Why don't you ever drop by anymore?" I asked, pouty lipped.

We were standing outside Austin's castle, at the stable where Miles usually was. As soon as he saw me arrive he grabbed my hand and pulled me behind a large tree, far away from any of the other horse riders.

"Why are we hiding behind S tree?" I asked him. Today he was in riding boots and a green scarf that complimented his chocolate brown eyes.

"It's not safe for you to be here," He said to me quietly.

"Why'd that, again?" I asked him, raising my eyebrows.

"Austin changed the rules around here. Ever since you got away after his marriage, he's increased security. And my shift. I'm here almost all the time now, that's why I haven't been visiting."

I took in what Miles was saying and I could feel the anger rising inside of me.

"That's insane!" I exclaimed loudly.

"That's Austin," He replied grimly. I glared at him.

"Just because Austin and I are done, he can't go mad and make stupid rules. How do the other riders feel about this?" I asked Miles, crossing my arms and leaning against the tree. The air outside was fresh but I was having a hard one clearing my mind.

"That's why it's not safe for you here. The other guys, who accused you of being a human? They're furious. At you. Id stay clear of this are if I were you, Scarlet."

I sighed. "okay, fine. But only if you visit from time to time. Or maybe we can find a place to meet up,' I suggested to him.

"Ill let Dmitri know If I think of something, promise."

I nodded and hugged him. "Want to give me a rude back?" I asked him, smiling sweetly, hoping he'd say yes.

"That won't be necessary," A familiar voice said from behind me.

Shocked, I turned around and was face to face with Austin for the first time in forever.

I gulped.

"Miles, do you think you're above me?" Austin questioned, turning to Miles.

"No, sir," Miles replied, and I saw his adam's apple bulge in his throat.

"Then get back to work and stopp hitting on my girl," Austin snapped.

"I think I'll just walk," I said to Miles, and pushed my way past Austin, who'd disgusted me.

"Running away from your unresolved problems won't help you, Scarlet."

I turned around, shocked that Austin had said that to me.

"You're right," I started. "You are an unresolved problem." He smirked. "And when did you become such an ass?" I asked, taking a step closet and poking him in the chest.

"Something's off about you," He commented.

"Yeah, my boyfriend got married. Strange, isn't it?" I placed my hands on my hips and had a stare - down with him.

"Ill just get back to work," Miles stuttered, walking away.

We ignored him and instead continued to glare at each other. Well, I glared, while he looked smug.

"It was arranged. You know, the kind of thing that the parent arranges? For a human, you're not so bright."

I guffawed. "Oh, you realize that when we Rent together anymore?" I asked him, incredulously. This guy! "And I'm not your "girl" anymore so if someone wants to 'hit on me' they can!"
