Answer in the comments! Who do you like better, Dmitri or Austin?

**

We knocked on his door. I realized I'd never seen his room before. That's how much control he had over me.

The door opened, but Austin wasn't the one was answered.

It was Charlotte.

I quickly hid behind Niko's shoulders so she wouldn't see me. I couldn't face her yet.

"Austin!" I heard her velvety voice say. "The twins and your other friends are here!"

I rolled my eyes. She was getting married to him and she didn't know who his friends were? I thought they grew up together, according to the queen. I mean, you don't need to know who they are, but if you've been around for 'so long', you should. That's how you knew they didn't really love each other.

"I'll leave you to talk," She said, and left the room. I shuddered, thinking of what they could have been doing before we came along.

"I thought you said he was alone," I whispered to Niko. He mouthed 'sorry' to me and shrugged.

After Charlotte was gone, they all walked in. I trailed along behind them, really not wanting to though. I felt horrible about what happened with Dmitri on the balcony.

"I was wondering when you guys would show up," I heard Austin's voice says. My heart slammed out of my chest. Hearing his voice made me ache.

The group of boys parted so that I was in view. I glared at all of them, since I wasn't even the one who needed to talk to him. I didn't even bother looking at Austin, who I could tell as watching me.

"Why'd you think we were coming to see you?" Niko asked

"Isn't that what friends do?" Austin said to them, spreading out his hands in front of him.

"Friends invite friends to their weddings," Dmitri accused, taking steps closer to Austin. This was the Dmitri I knew. Scary, angry Dmitri.

Austin sighed and looked down with his hands on his hips.

"What do you want me to say? I regret not telling you guys about the wedding," Austin said, "Really, I am." I could tell they weren't buying it.

"You could start by telling us your reason for not inviting us," Ash joined in. One thing I'd noticed and admired in Ash was that he was strong, a problem solver, and a cut-the-bullshit- and-focus kind of guy.

"It's not easy, okay!" Austin suddenly yelled at us, slamming a fist into the wall. The wall was now dented.

A small whimper escaped my throat, but I don't think anyone noticed. Everyone was focused on Austin.

"It's not easy. Growing up knowing your future is planned out for you, and that you have no choice but to go along with what's been arranged." He paused and laughed bitterly. "This marriage is a fluke," he whispered. I pursed my lips at the sight of tears flowing down his cheeks. I wanted to comfort him, but I knew that once my arms were wrapped around him, I'd probably never let him go.

"Man we would have supported you," Meeka said. "We're called friends for a reason."

"But that's the thing," Austin cut in, suddenly looking angry. "You guys are all having fun. Why should I bring you into my problems? II've already managed to hurt the person who means the most to me," He said. He looked to me. I couldn't help but look down, because he was right. He lost me. And it was his own fault.

He continued to stare at me, and I continued to look away. SIghing, he looked back to them. "You guys are all friends with her, and if I told you I was getting married to someone else, it's just," He struggled for words. "I don't know, guys. I wouldn't have liked to hear the news from any of you. I just guessed you guys would be the same."
