Lauren and Camila sat in the Cabello den with the television on, waiting for Sinu to return with an icepack for Camila. Lauren silently observed Camila. The brunette was slouching back against the couch cushions, pointing the remote at the television, clicking away. The raven-haired girl looked towards the TV and noticed that each channel was only up for a millisecond.

"Do you ordinarily take this long to select a program?" Lauren asked.

"Yep. It's called channel surfing."

Lauren watched in growing agitation as Camila continued to fly through each channel. "You're clicking through the channels way too fast. How can you even tell what you're seeing?"

"Hey, how about you do not worry about it?"

"How about you pick a station?" Lauren retorted.

Camila was about to say something back, but her mother walked in. "Here you go baby," she said, handing Camila the icepack.

Lauren smiled in amusement at the term of endearment. The brunette looked her way and Lauren mouthed, 'baby' in a teasing matter. Camila rolled her eyes. "Thanks, Mami."

"What exactly happened out there?" Sinu asked.

"Nothing, Mami. It's no big deal." The brunette winced as she placed the ice on her nose.

Sinu looked to the raven-haired girl for an answer. "Lauren?"

Lauren glanced at Camila and then back to Sinu. "Oh, um. I'm afraid Camila was hit in the face by the football. It caused a minor fracture but I popped her nose back into place, no problem."

"What?!" Sinu shrieked worriedly.

Camila grimaced at Lauren. "Thanks for the explanation, doc," she growled lowly.

Lauren smiled and nodded her head.

Sinu was now rubbing Camila's back in a comforting matter. "Relax mami, I'm fine..." Camila mumbled behind the icepack.

"I still don't understand why you play so roughly with the boys. You should be spending more time with girls, like Lauren. She will be a good influence on you."

"Oh, God..." Camila groaned.

"Then maybe you wouldn't get into any more fights or get suspended," Sinu continued. "Lauren's a good girl. I can tell."

Lauren grinned. She knew this was killing Camila. "Thank you, Mrs Cabello."

Sinu refrained from rubbing her daughter and stepped back. "Camila, you keep ice on that. I'll fix you some lunch. Lauren would you like anything?"

"Oh, no thank you."

"Okay," Sinu replied with a smile, before walking out of the room.

"Humph. Your mother thinks I'm a good influence on you," Lauren noted.

"Bite me."

"Bite you?" Lauren repeated, with confusion.

"Ugh, never mind..." Camila grumbled.

"Now, Camila. I don't think that's how friends speak to one another."

The brunette removed the ice pack from her face and looked at Lauren, frowning curiously. "I thought you had plans today."

Lauren's cheeky demeanour faded slightly, as did the smile on her face. She lowered her eyes for a moment as thoughts of her mother cancelling their plans came to mind. "I... I did but, my plans were suddenly changed."
