I had been staying in this house for almost a year now. The family had accepted me and I had basically become the older brother.

I woke with a start as the rooster crowed. I sighed and pulled myself out of bed. I clamored to get ready and scrambled to make breakfast. Waking up early was still a little hard for me but I would do it. I had to after all. It was either that or be late for school.

I got dressed really fast and woke the boys. They too dressed fairly quickly and came running out of their rooms. I handed them their breakfasts and we ate pretty fast. We cleaned the dishes and made our beds. As we left, the boys sent kisses to their mother.

We ran down the block toward the school, our usual race to see who could get their first. I never won because I didn't want to anger the boys. Today was different though. Mr. Okulim had told us he was bringing someone with him today. Oh how I hoped that it was Yuriki. I really wanted to meet him face to face.

We separated from each other as we went through the gates, me in first this time. I went into the gym and sat behind the kids who were already there. I looked around, trying to find the so called assistant that Mr. Okulim had said he was bringing. I didn't see him.

We did our usual greetings and then Mr. Okulim called on his friend. I saw movement in the corner and looked over. It was Yuriki. He demonstrated something for us and Mr. Okulim asked how he did it.

"Did he jump at the last second?" one of the girls asked. I just shook my head.

"No. He was standing on the balls of his feet allowing him to move out of the way faster," I said, earning a smile and nod from Yuri. I hoped this would lead to something more.
