She laid in Jughead's arms, loving life, sweaty from their amazing moment, more in love than ever. For a split second she had forgotten what had happened to her, to her sister. She had forgotten everything but Jughead. She had forgotten where she were, why she was there, how much she had been drinking, her anxiety, her self-hate. In that moment, when Jughead made her moan his name, she was the happiest person on earth. She was at peace. Jughead's fingers played with her hair, making small twirls, something he usually did with his own hair. Something she loved.

She heard the door click and quickly covered herself with the duvet. Archie and Veronica walked inside looking all whipped when they saw Jughead and Betty. Betty quickly sat up and watched, in fear and embarrassment, how Archie and Veronica looked at Betty then at Jughead's naked torso. How they stared at the clothes thrown on the floor. And how they finally found the condom Jughead threw on the floor, for some stupid reason Betty would have to cofnront him about later, after this horrible, horrible moment.
"Oh my-" Veronica started and hid her face in her hands. Betty stared at them and Jughead smirked. He didn't care a single shit that Veronica and Archie knew that they were fucking. Betty did. "You guys had sex in my bed?" Veronica said, pinching her nose with her index finger and thumb. Betty blushed. She wanted to disappear more than ever.
"We sure did. Nice bed, a little too hard though, but otherwise good. I'd say eight out of ten." Betty closed her eyes and wished that this was just a stupid dream.
"Jughead." She whispered as quiet as she could. Both pissed that he couldn't shut his mouth but also amused by his words how less he cared. Veronica stared at him.
"You had to throw the condom on my floor too?" She sighed.
"Either that or in your bed." Jughead shrugged. Betty hit him as a sign to make him stop. Even though she knew he wouldn't stop. Archie just glared at him. But eventually Veronica started to giggle. And Betty quickly followed her lead. And in a matter of seconds all four of them were laughing. Even Archie. Jughead just stared at them with a slight smirk. He wasn't really sure what to do. They laughed for what felt as hours.

When they were done laughing they all went downstairs. Avoiding the fact that Betty and Jughead slept in Veronica's bed. They got downstairs and everything seemed the same. Cheryl and Toni were kissing, Fangs, Sweet Pea and Kevin were talking. Reggie was staring at Betty, but no one noticed that. As usual. Jughead took Betty to the kitchen as Archie and Veronica disappeared into the crowd of people.
"You need to drink water." Jughead mumbled and took a glass and filled it with water.
"Or more alcohol." She had almost forgotten how drunk she was. "I want more of that red liquid." She said with a smile as the world spun faster and faster.
"No. You're going to be sick." He once again mumbled.
"Jugheaaaaaad." She complained. "Why are you being so boring?" She sighed.
"I'm not boring. I'm making sure you wont throw up." He said as he handed her the glass of water. Even though she didn't want to drink it she took a sip and pretended it was something stronger.
"What if I want to throw up." She giggled. He rolled his eyes.
"You don't." He frowned. She sighed and turned around. Observing the crowd of drunk people. Not a single one of them looked like they knew what they were doing. Betty's eyes met a dark haired boy. She knew who he was. But she couldn't figure out his name. Despite their history. She didn't know that it was Reggie. Didn't know what he was planning. Didn't know she was a target. Not for today, not for tomorrow. Reggie just knew what he wanted to do to her. But how was she supposed to know that? A few seconds later she took her eyes off of him. She hadn't noticed that she had gotten chills down her spine. He kept looking at her. But she didn't know that.
"What is it?" Jughead asked. Worried as hell. As usual.
"I don't know." Betty slowly sluddred.
"Do you feel sick?" Betty shook her head and gave Reggie a quick look before turning around and back to Jughead.
"I'm okay." She said. Something felt wrong. She just couldn't put her finger on what it was.
"Hey. Look at me." He put his thumb underneath her chin and forced her to look at him. "I love you." And in that second, everything else disappeared. It was only him and her. Her uneasy feeling went up in the flames Jughead had caused inside of her. It was something so...magical about him that made her forget everything in this world. Sometimes it was so mesmerizing she even forgot her own existance. Forgot who she was and what she had been through.
"I love you too, Jug. You have no idea." She whispered back to him. Sure that he had no idea. Unknowing that he knew better than anyone else what she was feeling. For he felt the same.

She woke up the next day with a pounding head and in a bad mood. Not really knowing why. THey had had a good night. After they had talked in the kitchen for what felt like hours he took her home, somehow, and they made love one more time before she fell asleep on top of him. And when she woke up the next day he wasn't beneath her and she wasn't on top of him. And she was freezing her ass off.
"Jug." She yelled as she put on one of his t-shirts to cover up her naked body. "Jughead!" She shouted one more time. This time a little more freaked out. Something felt wrong. "Jughead!" She once again yelled. Her voice was filled with panic and her heart pounded loudly and harsh in her chest. When he didn't reply she took her phone and dialed Jughead's number. No response. Without thinking she rushed outside and ran to Toni's trailer. She pounded on the door and yelled for Toni to come outside.
"Betty?" Toni said when she opened the door. Her hair was perfectly braided into one huge braid and she had probably just done her make-up. She looked stunning, and usually Betty would compliment her on it. But right now, all she could think about was Jughead. And his absence.
"Have you seen Jughead?" She almost screamed. The intense feeling that something was wrong was so heartbreaking that she didn't know what to do. It felt as if it would kill her. Her hair was a mess, her eyes big and terrified, wild almost, her cheeks were bright red and her hands shaky. Toni frowned.
"No?" She said slowly. Betty gasped for air. "Calm down, Betty." She shook her head.
"Jughead is gone. I don't know where he is. What if Malachai got to him? What if he's dead? What if..." Toni gripped Betty's shoulders and made her take deep breaths.
"Jughead is fine. He can take care of himself." She said. She was good at calming people down, even though Betty wasn't calm, she was even better at hiding her own fear.
"I can't lose him." Betty cried. "I can't lose him too. I can't do that." Her sobbings were loud and clear through the freezing morning. She was cold, but didn't know wether her shaking body was shaking due to the cold morning or because of her fear of loosing Jughead.

While Toni hugged Betty her phone started buzzing. She pushed Toni away and stared at the screen. Jughead. And in that moment her whole body relaxed. It was as if everything was ookay now. She answered the phone.
"Jughead? Oh my God. Where are you? You scared me to death. You do not get to..." She cried before getting interrupted.
"Betty Cooper." A voice she recognized. A voice that didn't belong to Jughead. A voice that had haunted her dreams. "How nice to hear your desperate little voice again." The person was laughing and behind him she could hear someone screaming in pain. And that someone, she knew exactly who it was. She could be miles away and still know it was him. His screams were so intense, so filled with pain that her blood froze.
"Jughead." She whispered into the phone. Malachai laughed, a cold hearted, evil laugh.
"We're going to kill him." Malachai sung into the phone. And Betty fell to the ground.
"No please don't." How was she going to survive without him? How was she ever going to become happy without Jughead in the picture? She could not lose him to. If she did, she would kill herself. There was no way in hell she was going to survive that. Not a chance.
"Sorry sweetheart. Loverboy has to go." Toni sat down beside her and held her in her tiny arms. Betty closed her eyes and pretended they belonged to Jughead. Prayed that if she just wished enough he would sit there when she opened her eyes.
"Please just let me talk to him." She whispered. "Malachai, please." She desperately begged.
"Fine. I just want you to hear the pain in his voice." Betty could hear him smirk.
"Betts? Betty?" Jughead's voice shattered her already broken heart into millions and millions of pieces. He sounded so hurt, so terrified. A side of him that she had barely never seen.
"Juggie?" She cried. "Are you okay?" Toni looked at her as she called the rest of the Serpents. She was smart enough to know that Betty wasn't fooling around. Smart enough to know something was damn wrong.
"I-I'm fine." He had to force every word out of his sore throat and forced himself to take deep breaths to not scare Betty. "Listen to me...you have to g-get out of" He went silent as someone kicked him. Betty could only hear something that sounded like bones breaking and prayed that it wasn't Jughead's, and prayed it wasn't a bad break. Hoped that he was fine. "Riverdale." He breathed.
"No, we are going to come get you out. I promise." Betty reassured Jughead. But he just grunted.
"No. Don't come here, you have to stay safe Betts. Promise me?" His voice was harsh, demanding. He had to know that she would be fine no matter what happened to him. He could handle dying as long as he knew Betty would be safe.
"I can't do that Jughead." Betty could hear footsteps approaching Jughead and held her breath.
"That's enough." Malachai said in the background.
"I love you Jughead." She screamed.
"Tell Toni I'm where it all started." The line went silent and Betty yelled at the phone.
