AN: I don't know how to make things italicized or bold or whatever so I'll put // around things that aren't actually happening. Oh, almost all of this one might be Nines and Gavin btw and Kara isn't gonna show up at all after this I think, unless you want more, then okay
Suddenly, Gavin puts his hands on my hips, surprising me slightly. "I... think you already know the answer tin can..."
//Warning signals start crowding my field of vision, and I realize that CyberLife honestly doesn't have a chance against deviants. I know what all this means, the warning signals. I know my LED is probably red, but I break through the warning signals anyway. I back Gavin into the wall, inches from his face. "You think you can handle me, tin can?" He says quietly. "Do not underestimate me, Detective Reed."//
"Well, it's nice to actually meet you guys instead of running away from you." Kara says. "It's tiring running after you to be honest." Connor laughs, and Hank rolls his eyes. "Agreed." The lieutenant grumbles.
I suddenly step away from Gavin, confusing both of us. Him mostly because he didn't think what I just thought. He notices the look in my eyes. "Nines don't you dare-!" I take off running down the street, not very sure where I was even going. I can hear Gavin yelling things behind me but I ignore him.
//All the androids and Alice all hear something going on in the distance, but Hank doesn't notice. Connor looks around, and flinches slightly. "Kara, you guys need to get out of here!" He whispers sharply. Luther glances back to see Nines turning the corner onto the street the five of them are by. Hank looks down the street. "Shit that's Nines!" He says quietly. Luther looks around and picks up Alice. "Where do we go?" Kara panics slightly, "I don't know just run and find a place to hide and make sure that Alice stays safe." Luther runs down the street in the same direction Nines is running and hides by the side of a building. The group of now three can all hear faint yelling. "Is that Gavin I hear?" Hank says quietly. Connor nods, "Perhaps Nines has deviated. He's probably scared."//
I stop running a few blocks from the station, leaning against a wall, trying to get my shit together. I manage to contact Amanda.
//At this point, my systems are all reporting warnings. Overheating, switching to secondary measures. I stumble towards a street light, leaning against it. I can vaguely see the outline of Kara, Connor, and Hank in the distance, but my vision systems are starting to somewhat fail. Kara runs over, not even thinking about what could happen. My so-called 'breathing' is erratic, my LED flashing red, as though I'm on the verge of shutting down.//
Amanda looks at me, rather unimpressed. "RK900, what are you doing? You haven't finished the mission yet." I look at her and say, "Something is wrong with me, Amanda."
//"Hello? Are you okay?" Kara tries to help me. I look confused, my audio files corrupting slowly. "W... what...?" My voice is slightly static-y. Connor sprints over. "Nines, hey! Calm down. your stress level is too high." He says to me. "Is there anything I can do to help, Connor?" Kara says. Connor scans me. "Just keep him awake. I'll work on the stress level." Connor's hand turns white and he puts his hand on my shoulder. I blink several times, trying to figure out who the other android is, having never met Kara before. Kara nods, and says, "Okay." She tries her best to keep me awake. "Who... is this... Connor...?" I say, my voice less static-y. //
Amanda turns towards me. "And what might that something be?" She says. "I... don't know. My thoughts are no longer about the mission. They're all mixed up. It's making me confused."
//"Are you feeling any better?" Kara asks me. "I... don't know..." I say, the static clearing some more. "You sure sound a bit better." She says. "You... were watching me... at the crime scene earlier... weren't you?" I say quietly. Kara hesitates. "...Yes. I was." Suddenly, Gavin skids to a stop at the end of the sidewalk. He looks around and spots Connor, Kara, and I. "Nines!" He runs over, not even caring that Connor is supposed to be deactivated and Kara is a deviant. I try to figure out which blurry form he is when my vision goes dark. I must have looked panicked, because Gavin said, "Everything's gonna be okay. I was the one that got you into this mess anyway, toaster." He says laughing slightly.//
