Some Time Later...

I power back up a few hours later, blinking a few times. It takes me a moment to remember what happened before I powered off. I smile a little when I remember, and I notice that the shower's running. I sit up, stretching slightly, when I suddenly find myself in my 'mind palace'. At least I'm dressed in my mind, or else Amanda would somehow be more pissed off with me, if possible. "RK900," she says, clearly angry, "I am disappointed in you."

I just look at her as she continues. "It's been six months since you activated, and yet you've already deviated. For a worthless, self-loathing human nonetheless." I narrow my eyes, and growl slightly as I say, "He. Isn't. Worthless." She mocks being intimidated, and says, "Such a fierce look coming from an android. From a pointless deviant." She stalks towards me, seeming to almost increase in size, making me take a few steps back. "You know he just takes pity on you, don't you RK900, or should I say, Nines?" I notice I feel... afraid. "No... he wouldn't just... you're wrong..." I say. Amanda gets closer, and my 'mind palace' turns pitch black, as if it's no longer there. "You know I'm right. Maybe you should just take his gun, put it right there," she touches my LED, and her touch feels white hot, "and pull the trigger."

I suddenly get pulled back into reality as Gavin shakes me somewhat. "Nines?! Nines listen to me for fuck's sake!" I blink a few times, and slowly put my right hand down, looking at the gun I somehow grabbed. I pause, letting the gun fall from my hand. Gavin suddenly hugs me, on the verge of  tears, and he says, his voice muffled slightly, "Nines what the fuck! You scared me!" He looks at me, clearly thinking I just pranked him.

Gavin realizes that Nines doesn't know what happened either, seeing the android's LED turn red. The android slowly starts hyperventilating, tears forming in his eyes, and he puts his hands on the sides of his head, saying, "No no no no no no t-this isn't... no no no..." Gavin realizes his boyfriend's stress level must be at its max, and he grabs his wrists.

I look at Gavin as he holds my wrists in between the two of us, trying my hardest not to break down. "Nines, calm down." He says quietly, concerned. I swallow, taking deep, shaky breaths. "Can you tell me what happened...?" He says, gently leading me over to the couch, having me sit down, and he sits down next to me, at an angle so he can look at me. "I... I was just thinking, and then... I found myself in m-my mind palace... and A-Amanda was there... s-she told me... and then s-she told me I s-should take your g-gun and..." I slowly start breathing faster, and Gavin suddenly pulls me into a hug. "Jesus tin can... it's gonna be okay, I promise." I silently cry in his arms, not trusting myself to say anything else.

Gavin knows his android boyfriend is hiding something, but now definitely isn't the time to ask, seeing as how wrecked Nines is over whatever went down in his 'mind palace', whatever the fuck that was. He just hugs him, one hand drifting along his back, the other messing with his hair.

I calm down after close to ten minutes, and then quietly say, "You... you don't p-pity me... do you?" Gavin doesn't respond for a second, and then makes me look at him, and he says, "No. I love you. There's a difference between love and pity, Nines." He gently kisses me, and I smile a little.

AN: Sorry it's so short but I don't have all that much time to do some writing but there will (hopefully) be more soon, but during the week days, I wouldn't count on daily updates
