------------Bamani POV-------------
I was still chuckling to myself, as Osiris banged violently on my door. "It's open" I hollered, as i got up to get another chilled beer.
Damn, he looked pissed. Who knew a soulmate could have such an effect, i'm glad i hadn't found mine.
Handing him the beer, i fell back onto the bed, bouncing slightly as i kicked my polished Salvatore Ferragamo Andrea Lace-up shoes off carelessly.
"SO you and Isis aren't getting along huh?" I said casual.
"I don't understand Bamani! What did i do wrong? Everything was going to plan. I found her, i got her to stop trying to run from me but .... Ahhh!" I stopped myself from flinching at Osiris's outburst of frustration. I hadn't seen him so emotional in years, and to say i felt unnerved was just too subtle.
"Be patient, she's been living in the human world, she's been raised differently to you." I reassured.
"Yeah, but that's exactly why she shouldn't be Queen. The elders suggested that i seduce her and that way i can control her but i'm unsure that's the best course of action. I mean she's damaged, and as you heard tonight seducing her is rather difficult." He raged, a dark shadow passing over his eyes. Well this was all news to me, whenever he had a meeting with the elders i was made to stand guard a meter away from the door;probably because they thought i was a huge gossip.
"Osiris, she's your soulmate. You two have a natural connection, so don't give up hope. However, wouldn't it make your life easier if you just taught her to be Queen." I gentle suggested, knowing i was entering dangerous waters disagreeing both him and the elders.
"Your right Bamani, thank you old friend." He grinned to my relief. Yet again something flicked in his eyes, something that undermined his smile.
"Well what do you expect i'm a genius" I said cheekily, trying to lighten the mood.
"If i remember correctly genius implies you have a brain...which you obviously don't, if the shopping incident is anything to go by." He mocked, laughing as i cringed.
"Well, in my defence i was hungover." I whined, taking a large 'sip' of my beer to hide my embarrassment.
"Sure you were." He replied sarcastically. I sent him a menacing glare, which only caused him to smirk instead of cower in fear like i'd hoped. "Erm, Bamani which ways the bathroom?" He asked.
"There isn't one with the room, stupid if you ask me. Anyway,if you go outside into the hall, go left for abit; you should see it." I instructed, getting up to search for another beer in the mini fridge. I heard the door not so quietly slam behind him, with not even a 'thanks man', so much for manners, i thought rolling my eyes.
As i scanned contents of the fridge, i was disappointed to find we'd drunk the last of the beer and i wasn't even tipsy yet! Growling, i snatched the cold pepperoni pizza and a yogurt.
The food was delicious, i went to get more. I swear i saw chocolate ice cream in there...my stomach snarled in anticipation. Suddenly eye popping screams pieced the loud music.
Without thinking, i raced out of the room, heading next door to Isis's, i slammed my muscular body against it, swinging it open to find the room empty. "SH*T!" Where is she?! What if it was her screaming?!
Doubling back i hurried towards the stairs nearly colliding with Osiris. "She's gone!" I shrieked, panic lacing my voice.
"WHAT?!"
"I said she's-" I started to repeat.
"I heard." Osiris snapped, shoving passed me to head down the stairs, as i trailed obediently behind him.
Everything had turned to chaos as humans screamed, running in all different direction. The windows had been smashed, with a desperate few climbing through them -even with the risk of been slashed by the broken glass- into the night. A quick exploration resulted in bruises from being elbowed and kicked but still no sign of Isis.
I made eye contact with Osiris from across the crowd room, seeing that he hadn't found her either. His facial expression suddenly turn to horror, making my forehead crease in confusion.
Just then i was brutally tackled to the glass covered carpet. On instinct, i swung my fist into the beast flank causing it to growl. In spite of this, it clamped it's mouth full of knifes on my exposed neck- choking me. Black dots danced in my vision, telling me i was about to either pass out or die.
My attempts to loosen the monster's deadly grip only resulted in my neck being compressed harder. As my ability to move my limbs rapidly decreased, and i entered the edge of unconsciousness the beast released my throat. I slumped, only to be abruptly jolted as if being dragged. That's when the darkness over took me.
