Payal's POV

My heart sank as Mum's revelation continued, each word carrying a weight of sorrow and regret. I hurried to fetch Bhabhi, knowing Dad needed medical attention. Bhabhi's worried expression mirrored my concern.

"Papa, how many times have I told you not to raise your blood pressure?" Bhabhi scolded gently, her voice tinged with worry. Dad nodded weakly, his eyes filled with emotion as he asked Bhabhi to leave.

As we moved to leave, Mum's voice stopped us.

"Wait," she pleaded, her face etched with worry lines. "I need to finish telling you."

She continued, her voice trembling with emotion.

They finally agreed, and we arranged for Garima to stay in Lucknow, away from her family, so no one would suspect. She was made to look five months pregnant to avoid suspicion when you were born. Thankfully, the delivery was safe. After we gave you to Garima, we tried to visit regularly until threats forced us to stop. We had guards watching over you and the family. When Khushi was born, she was kidnapped at two months old. We searched everywhere and then saw Shashi and Garima had two daughters. They told us you were found on their doorstep. We recognized you instantly, but seeing the bond you shared with Garima and Shashi, we couldn't take you back.

Mum's voice cracked with emotion as she continued, recounting the ongoing threats that prevented them from openly reconnecting with us.

We felt jealous of the love you had for Garima and Shashi. They refused money and promised to care for you genuinely. We feared losing you again and manipulated them to lie about their love for money and move away. When you met through Nk seven years ago, I received a message that night.

Mum handed over a piece of evidence, a chilling reminder of the ongoing threats that haunted their lives and kept us apart.

Before Dad could finish his sentence, my phone rang and it was Karan calling urgently.

Karan (worried) - Payal, come home as soon as possible. Please.

Before I can even ask him what's wrong, he abruptly ends the call. I turn to Khushi, my heart pounding with worry.

Me (worried) - We need to go home immediately. Karan sounded really worried about Vivu and Aru.

Without a second thought, Khushi and I rush out of our parents' house, too agitated to even bid them farewell. I drive with urgency but slow down when I feel Khushi trembling beside me. Carefully parking the car, we rush inside our home, bracing ourselves for what awaits us.
