Steve

"Duck!"

"What?—" was all I managed to get out before I got slammed into by a flying body.

"Dammit, Steve." Perseus' cursed, sprinting over to guard me as I removed the enemy,"I told you to duck."

I huffed as I pushed the opponent back,"How was I supposed to know what that meant? What's a bird have to do with anything right now?"

"It's a phrase that means get down, popsicle." Tony input, amusedly.

I grunted as I decapitated the other,"Why couldn't you just say that?"

"It's—I'm not explaining this right now, just be more aware, Soldier." Agent Jackson growled, disappearing into the castle.

Before I could protest anymore, the sound of battle filled my mind. I focused on the fighting around me, and covering the team. Surprisingly, we weren't on Earth, but the mission we were on involved the Avengers, and consequently, Agent Jackson. Well, a small part of the Avengers, just Pietro, Tony, and I. Thor, Wanda, Vision, and Loki were elsewhere, actually not Loki, he was in the infirmary.

I forgot what planet we were on, but it had these odd creatures that stole from Loki. That's why he was in the infirmary, he was injured after being ambushed. Not cool, but because Loki was part of the team, we got involved, so hello Perseus. Long time no see, just a little over a year, no hard feelings.

"Stop daydreaming, Steve!"

My thoughts were interrupted by said Agent sprinting out of the palace with his boyfriend's scepter in hand. I called the team back in, and we all ran trying to get to our meeting point, well Tony flew, but who needs specifics. I ended up next to Perseus who was neatly fighting and running at the same time. He was as graceful as a gazelle, not that I wasn't either, but sometimes those rocks had it out for me.

"So, what's it like being part of the Avengers again?" I grinned at him, teasingly.

He scowled back at me,"I'm not—"

He was cut off by Tony swooping down and throwing the enemy he was holding to the ground. Unfortunately his aim was crap, and he ended up nailing our Agent of SHIELD.

"What? You didn't finish!" I hollered to him.

They both tumbled to the ground, Perseus quickly rolling back to his feet after slitting the throat. He started again running to catch up to me, the staff still gripped firmly in his hand.

"Up yours, Rogers." He shot back, breathlessly.

I laughed heartily, turning back towards my goal. It was within eyesight, Pietro was already there, setting up the parts we needed to get out of here. Tony was a little ahead of me, and Perseus was still behind me. I looked back to check on the Agent, the warning barely leaving my lips before something shot out of the weapon the enemy was holding and sweeping Perseus' feet out from underneath him.

He flipped several times in the air, still moving until he hit the ground shoulder first. The Agent slammed hard into the ground, his breath taken away. I yelled out to him, stumbling to a stop, and turning a sharp 180° and heading to help the boy that had been just pounded into the ground like putty. The staff had fallen, and I swiftly picked it up on my run to Agent Jackson after throwing my shield.

The enemy grabbed the still recovering Agent, and started grappling with the struggling boy. They fought with both arms and legs to gain the upper hand. When his eyes connected with mine, I saw relief as he noticed the staff in my hand. That distracted him, and he was suddenly grasped by the ankle and swung like a sledge hammer face first into the floor.
