It was finally Friday and I was more than ready to see Dally. I hadn't seen him since Sunday.
I slipped into the black dress, curled my hair, and did my makeup more intense than I usually did. My eyeshadow and red lip stick were both a few shades darker than normal.
I sprayed a bit of my favorite vanilla perfume and there was a knock at the door.
I opened it for Bailey. She came in and I asked for her opinion on shoes. We decided to go with the black heels.
I put on my black leather jacket and there was another knock on the door. Bailey shooed me down the stairs and to the front door.
I opened it after she returned to Anne. There stood Dallas, even better looking that I remembered. He wore his usual brown leather jacket, a black t shirt, and a pair of jeans.
"Damn," he said, a smirk on his face.
I bit my lip, "I was thinking the same thing."
He took my hand and lead me to his car.
A few minutes later we pulled into a spot near Buck Merril's place. We knocked on the door and Buck answered, a can of beer in one hand. He stepped aside and we both walked in.
We spent the night talking, dancing, and having a good time.
About halfway through, Buck pulled Dallas away, something about Ponyboy and Johnny. He returned a few minutes later but was a bit distracted for the rest of the night.
It was around one o'clock when we decided it was best we head out, "You want to crash here again? It's late."
He shrugged. When we got there, we cleared Bailey of her duty and went to our separate rooms.
At around three in the morning I heard a soft tapping on the door. I got up and opened it to find Dally outside my bedroom, "Would you mind telling me where the glasses are? I need a drink of water but don't want to have to search your kitchen.
I rubbed the sleep from my eyes, "Of course."
We went downstairs and I grabbed him a glass and filled it with water.
"You know, you're real good looking. Especially in the dark," My words were slurred and I had no filter when I was tired.
He stopped drinking and put the glass down, "Are you drunk? I thought you said you didn't drink anything there."
I waved him off as I yawned, "I'm not drunk, just tired."
He nodded but looked at me with suspicion.
Anne started crying upstairs so I went and grabbed her before bringing her back downstairs. I fixed her a bottle and fed her as I slowly became more awake.
When she was done I put her on the carpet to crawl around.
She smiled up at me, "Mama." Then she turned to Dallas and smiled.
"Hey, Dally, I'm going to go put her to bed. Let me know if you need anything else."
