{Part Thirty Eight ~ Heather's POV}

I ran up the street to the DX, finding only Steve.
I quickly jogged over to him, "Is he really back?"
Steve looked at me, "Pony? Yeah, he was sent to the hospital with Johnny and Dallas last night."
My throat dried, "Hospital?"
He nodded, "Saved some kids from a burning church."
My heart dropped and I quickly started towards my house, stopping only to get in my car and drive to the hospital.
Darry and Soda were in the waiting room with Pony.
I smiled at the now blond haired boy, "It's good to see you, kid."
He just smiled up at me.
I glanced down the hall before turning back, "Dallas?"
Ponyboy looked confused but pointed to a door down a ways. My heart seemed to be skipping beats all over the place as I hurried to the door, moving slowly as I turned the knob.
Dallas lied on the bed, "Doll?"
I broke into tears as I rushed across the room to him, "Dal!"
He rubbed my back with one hand, keeping the other to the side.
I jumped back, "I'm so sorry! I forgot you must be hurt! I was just so worried and-" I cut myself off, "That's not important. What's important is that you're back."
He smiled, "Don't worry about me. It's just my arm, I can take a hug." I sighed before placing a quick kiss on his cheek.
He seemed disappointed, "My lips are farther over, doll."
My smile grew and this time my lips landed on his.
As I pulled back, he muttered, "That's better."
I sighed before looking back with a glare, "What were you thinking? You're in the hospital! What did you do?"
He shrugged, "Johnnycake and Pony went into the church to save some kids but Johnny couldn't get out on his own, I had to get him out."
I sighed, "It's really hard to be mad at you when you have excuses like that."
He smirked, "Then don't be mad at me. I like it better that way anyways."
The following days I payed Dally a visit every chance I got, usually bringing Anne because of the way his face lit up when he saw her. We had yet to go a day without kissing atleast a few times. He never said it but I knew Dallas loved me too. He showed it in his actions and it was felt with every kiss.
