Sakura awoke the next day to loud voices coming from downstairs. She groaned, wondering if Naruto had invited his friends over for breakfast before school started. They were too loud, that's the only reason she was unhappy. Not only that, but the way they blatantly ignored her was just disrespectful.
She walked over to the bathroom to get ready, much slower than usual. She hoped that by the time she was done, whoever was downstairs would be gone.
However, about a half hour later, Sakura could still hear voices in the kitchen as she descended the stairs. She prepared herself to grab a granola bar and leave as soon as possible, but was stopped as she heard a familiar voice call out to her.
"Good morning, Sakura!" Temari chirped, she was happier than usual today.
Sakura sighed in relief. "Good morning everyone." She said, smiling at Temari, Gaara and Kankuro. The three of them were scattered around the kitchen, acting as if they were in their own home. They came over so much that it basically was.
"You could've told me they were coming over." She looked to Naruto, who just grinned back at her and continued to eat his cereal.
Sakura had befriended the three siblings along with Naruto, not too long after she distanced herself from Naruto's friends. They had met Gaara first, who then introduced them to his siblings. Sakura hit it off with Temari immediately.
The three siblings were transfers from across the country, their reason for leaving was simply because they needed a break. With their father being an extremely wealthy business man, a lot of pressure was put on to his children, forcing them to do whatever it took to be 'perfect'.
Sakura dreaded the day they'd have to go back, which she knew would be soon. Soon as in, right after they graduate. She'd officially have no friends after they left.
She shook the depressing thoughts from her mind, focusing on the present. Sakura walked over to the table, taking the seat next to Gaara's.
"How's college been so far?" She asked Kankuro, the only sibling in the group who had left high school already.
His refusal to leave his siblings behind was the only reason his father hadn't dragged him back home. An image of their father dragging Kankuro by the ear popped into her mind, and Sakura tried her best to hide the amused grin on her face.
"Horrible, it's too much work." He complained, sighing.
"Since when did you do work?" Naruto asked, a cheeky grin on his face.
"Since when did you do work, you little sh-"
"Shut up, idiot." Temari interrupted her brother, rolling her eyes at his sensitivity.
Gaara chewed his cereal.
"Anyways.." Sakura said. "We should start walking to school unless we wanna be late."
"Why can't doll boy drop us off?" Naruto asked, poking fun at poor Kankuro again.
"They're not dolls, they're collectable puppets!" Kankuro shouted at the blonde boy.
"Because he's already late, also because he can't drive." Gaara answered for him, placing his now empty bowl in the sink.
"But he has his license." Sakura pointed out, not quite catching on to what he meant.
"He's a public health hazard." Was all Gaara said.
Sakura decided it was best to not ask what had happened that gave Kankuro such a reputation.
A few minutes later, Kankuro sped out of their driveway while the rest of them walked to their high school.
Sakura walked into school with friends by her side, for the first time since the school year started.
