HAYLEY AND I WERE SITTING IN MY ROOM. We were talking about Klaus and Rebekah. After the party last night, both Rebekah and Klaus had disappeared and no one had seen them since then

"Hayley!"

Hayley stood up when she heard her name, "Come on Tal"

"They're calling your name, Hayls, not mine"

We entered the study where Elijah and Marcel were, "You're back. Did you find any. . ." Hayley trailed off. Elijah stood some meter away from us, shirtless. Marcel was going through the desk drawers, looking for something.

I looked at Hayley and saw her practically gaping, "What uh— What's happening?" I asked

"I need one of you to make a list of these names," Elijah said

We walked over and started to examine his body. There were names written all over him,  his shoulders, arms, back, and abdomen. They looked like tattoos.

I saw a familiar name, "Sabine?"

"Elijah, what is this?"

"I believe they represent the names of the women Celeste inhabited for the past two centuries"

Marcel joined us, he passed Hayley a notebook and a pen, "It's called a Devinette. It's old school. Kind of a riddle. Witches use them to teach their kids. Solve it, and it disappears"

"Why? What's the point?" Hayley asked

"Celeste forced me to make a choice between yourself and my siblings, and now she means to mock that choice, taunting me with a childish game. The longer the game, the more they suffer. To find Klaus and Rebekah, we need to solve this riddle. The solution lies somewhere in these names" Elijah spoke

"The name next to Sabine" Marcel pointed at Elijah's arm, "Annie La Fleur, she's a witch who got shunned from her coven just over a year ago. Never knew why, but I can find out"

I WALKED DOWNSTAIRS, ON THE PHONE WITH ELIJAH. He and Marcel had gone out to get some information about Annie la Fleur.

"She killed herself?" I asked, shocked

"Yes, drowned herself in the Mississippi, to be precise. Celeste was clearly tired of the body and ready to take Sabine's"
