Contradictory eyes

Within your eyes, a cavernous abyss,
Deep, intense, and fierce, they insist,
Reflecting your innermost thoughts,
They proudly shine, mischievous knots.

Curious, they are, both harsh and soft,
Black as night, a color so aloft,
Death and coldness dwell within,
A paradoxical allure, a contradictory din.

How strange, these eyes of captivating allure,
Warm and yet cold, a contrast so pure,
They beckon and warn, an enigmatic blend,
Getting lost in their depths, easy to descend.

Yet you guard them, secretive and resistant,
Hurtful and hopeful, a paradox persistent,
How can they be soulless and soulful too,
Curiosity and fear blend as I pursue.

Perhaps I'm losing my grip on sanity's thread,
Exploring depths that fill my heart with dread,
In this cold, intense abyss I willingly dive,
You offer a taste of ecstasy, leaving me alive.

Was it destiny's design or mere fate's decree?
To be ensnared by eyes that set me free.
Enthralled by the secrets they hide within,
I've fallen for these eyes, a contradiction, a sin!
