Part 36

Gauri was just sitting in her bed when Arnav came to her

Arnav- Ri are you free now? Can I speak to you?

Gauri- Yes Annav. Why you asking permission from me? You can talk with me anytime

Then Arnav came and sat in the bed with her and caressed her hair

Arnav- How is your college?

Gauri became nervous at once. Why Annav suddenly asking about college? Did he... did he got to know about her working in Oberoi Industries? She was afraid. It's better to say the truth now, she thought...

Gauri- Annav... It's good... yeah going good

Arnav- (he was also hesitating to say) Actually... you know Tiwaris and their son Abhay right?

Gauri- (relaxed as Annav still didn't know about her working)  Yes. That day aunty told he is coming to India and will stay for about a month

Arnav- Yeah. Infact morning Mrs. Tiwari came to office

Gauri- Why?

Arnav- woh... actually... she came with a marriage proposal to you and Abhay

Gauri- (shocked)  Kya?????

Arnav- Yes Ri. I just want to inform you...

Gauri- But Annav.... How can I marry now? I still didn't finish my finals

Arnav- I know that Ri. She was saying after marriage you can do your exams. Infact after that you can settle in USA with Abhay

Gauri- (angrily)  Then did you confirmed that I will marry him without my concern?

Arnav- No no Ri. I will never do that. I said I will ask you and tell. But I just wanna say I would be happy if you marry (cupping her both cheeks) I may have given you luxuries to live. But I know I've never given you the love of parents. I was busy in building life that I missed it. I don't want that to happen anymore. You deserve more. If you marry, through in laws I'm sure you will get the love which you longed

Gauri- (hugging him) Don't say you didn't give me mom and dad's love. You have given more love than anyone could give. You are not only my brother but my mom and dad too

Both were emotional at that moment. Both of them terribly missed their parents that time. Arnav tried not to show his dilemma even Gauri too...

Arnav- (holding her hands)  Will you please consider about this marriage Ri? Please...

Gauri saw hope in Annav's eyes. She couldn't deny it straight away or tell him about her love for Omkara when she itself not sure whether he loves her or not. First she should speak to Omkara and confess love. So she said...

Gauri- I.. I need time to think about it Annav

Arnav- Sure Ri

And he caressed her hair lovingly and went out leaving Gauri in deep thinking...

Next day Gauri went to office deciding no matter what she is going to confess her love. But she sensed some uneasy feeling indide her heart. She thought it may be because she is nervous. Whole night she has practised how she is going to propose Omkara and thought of many expressions he will show. She was hell nervous now. With so much hope she went to Omkara's cabin to see the heartbreaking scene.

Riddima and Omkara were kissing. Omkara was seated in the chair closing his eyes. Riddima was above him facing her back to door. She was cupping Omkara's face. Gauri's heart broken into million pieces. She felt as if her heart is bleeding. Her love is kissed by someone else than her. She let out a painful smile. When did he became her love? It's only she who loved him. He was just friendly with her and she misinterpreted that he also maybe in love her. But it's not true. He may have loved Riddima. He itself proved it by constantly starting at Riddima and praising her. She silently went to her desk controlling her aching heart...

On the other side in Omkara's cabin...

Riddima moved herself from Omkara after blowing his eyes. When she came inside his cabin for taking signature of Omkara she saw him rubbing his eyes because something went inside his eyes. So she said she will take off it. Though Omkara refused she forcibly came infront of him and blew his eyes cupping his face. When she was finished she saw Gauri looking at them through the glass behind Omkara. So she thought to carry on her act. Once Gauri went she removed her hands and soon pushed by Omkara angrily

Omkara- Don't you dare do something like this ever again. Stay away from me...

Though she felt insulted she way happy Gauri saw them. She was sure it might have looked like them kissing. So with a cunning smile she went out from the cabin and went to her cubicle which is next to Gauri... She spoke loudly to her friend so that Gauri could hear her...

Riddima- You know what today I kissed Omkara

Friend- What??? He kissed you?? I can't beleive it

Riddima- Yes. Didn't I say you he kept looking at me all these days. Today when I went to take sign he pulled me and kissed me

Gauri couldn't bear it anymore. She couldn't control her tears and ran to washroom and locked herself in and cried her heartout. She has lost it. Maybe she was never meant to be Omkara's. The ones whom she loved immensely have left her. First her parents. Now Omkara too. She doesn't want to lose her Annav too. Also she don't want to lose Omkara's friendship. Though not love he has been her close friend. So she thought to atleast continue his friendship...

Arnav was in his cabin when Khushi came there.

Khushi- Did you spoke to Gauri?

Arnav- Yes. She said she needs time to think

Khushi- Oh

Then Arnav received a call and excused himself. Khushi was watching him. While speaking his face expression changed to happiness. He was beaming in happiness with  a wide smile on his face. She never saw him this much happy. As soon as he cut the call she looked at him and he happily said

Arnav- Ri agreed for marriage

And suddenly hugged her. Khushi was shocked with his sudden action. Her usual dhak dhaks started to raise so much. She was feeling different sensations inside her in his warm hug. While in hug Arnav spoke

Arnav- I'm so happy Khushi. I never thought she would agree soon. You are right. She too had dreams which is unknown to me. Thank you....

But Khushi was not in a state to react. Seeing her not reacting only Arnav realised he is hugging Khushi. Soon he withdrew himself from her. Khushi felt sad to lose the warmness of him but straighten herself....

Arnav- (not meeting her eyes in embarrassed)  Sor... so...

Khushi- It's okay. (After a pause) I'm happy for you and Gauri

He just smiled and Khushi excused herself from there mainly to reduce her raising heartbeat. After she went Arnav lightly slapped his backhead for his action. He doesn't know why he hugged her suddenly but it felt so right for him. With a big smile on face he started working on his laptop...
