When the Sun was starting to set, that was when we decided to leave the clearing. I led Jasper to my Lamborghini, who whistled lowly in approval. I rolled my eyes when I heard him. Men and their machinery, I thought amused. But then, I am no better at times...

When he drove us to his home, I couldn't help but gape in awe at their three storey house. It was so open and beautiful, in contrast to the Denali's cabin. "Do you like it?" he asked me when he saw I was openly gawking at the house in front of us.

"It has a certain charm," I replied back slyly, getting out of the car to grab Junior. Jasper merely chuckled in response, coming to my side in a flash and planting a kiss to Junior's forehead, sending the small boy into giggles that automatically made his parents smile.

"Come on," Jasper murmured, escorting us to the front entrance. Footsteps could be heard rushing to the door, along with a heartbeat. We stood outside, waiting for Bella to open the door.

"Hey, Bella!" I grinned when she opened the door.

"Hey, Mels!" Bella beamed back. She glanced at the three of us with a bright smile. "Wow, you guys truly look like a family now. All there's left is the wedding to make it official." Bella commented, making me blush furiously at the bluntness of the human. Both Jasper and Bella laughed at my reaction.

"So are you going to let us into my home?" Jasper smirked, tightening his arm around my waist. Realising she was blocking the entrance, Bella flushed profusely and stepped aside, mumbling her apologies that did nothing but amused us. She's so adorable...

Bella led us to the living room where everyone from the field was residing, flitting to her mate's arms - the man that caused her pain for months and also tried to kill me. I couldn't help but tense up when I laid my eyes upon the three that attacked me.

Jasper peered down at me when he felt my spike of emotions, following my gaze only to narrow his eyes, pulling me closer to him. "Be nice, they're your coven," I scolded lightly, sending some calmness to him. Jasper gave me a small smile in thanks, leading me to the only loveseat available in the room.

Jasper cleared his throat uncomfortably, his arms tight around my waist but gazing at his coven with determination. "Everyone," he addressed, "this is my mate and my son, Melanie and Jasper Junior. Melanie, this is my coven." I gave a shy smile momentarily before I turned my gaze back to my son in my arms. They all gave their separate introductions, their emotions heavy with guilt and curiosity excluding Bella.

"I'm sorry for back on the field," Edward, Bella's mate, apologised sincerely. "It's just...recently we've been on guard and tense because of the newborns in Seattle and Bella's safety..."

"We are very sorry," Rosalie, the beautiful blonde, added.

"It's okay," I waved off, "I understand." I turned to Jasper with a raised eyebrow, asking him silently if he forgave them.

"I'm also sorry for almost killing you guys," Jasper replied with a small sheepish smile.

"Well at least we know what to expect when you're really angry," Emmett joked, though wincing at the reminder of the incident when he got smashed by Major. Bella and I looked to one another confused, however. Jasper never reacted this way - at least once - in front of them?

"Too miserable to be angry," Edward answered my silent question. Jasper sent a small playful glare to the mind reader but did not deny it. Before any more could be said on the subject, Jr started to squirm in my arms, releasing small cries. Maybe he wants his father...

Edward nodded from the corner of my eye. Grinning, I turned to Jasper who was staring down at Jr concerned, slowly extending my arms to him. "He wants you to hold him," I whispered. The bright smile sent my way would have sent my dead heart beating erratically. It just shone with so much happiness and love, something we barely felt in our vampiric years.

When Jasper held our son closely to his chest, almost immediately Jr settled down, falling back asleep. "He's perfect," Jasper murmured to me, slowly rocking the baby in his arms. "When you grow up, I'm going to teach you everything a man should know. How to talk to girls so you know how to woo your mate, how to control your thirst and look human in front of others - though I doubt you'll need any help in that - and also how to fight -"

"Let's leave that last one out," I interrupted, giving Jasper a stern look. He frowned in reply.

"Why -"

"Because I don't want our son to learn how to fight at a young age. And knowing you, you'll try to teach him this when he's like five. Wait until he's a teenager." He scoffed in disbelief.

"You can't be serious -"

"Oh I am serious," I smirked, "I have been waiting for this day to come concerning his fighting, so don't try ruining this for me."

"In his defence, Jr is past fifteen," Emmett butted in with a smirk.

"But not physically," I sassed. He lost his smirk much to our amusement.

"Sorry mate, you're on your own," Emmett sighed.

"But Mels -"

"No."

"Please?"

"No."

"I'll do anything -"

"No."

"Seriously?" Jasper chuckled. I shrugged nonchalantly.

"Yes; our son's safety is my first priority, along with your safety," I said. "And don't even think about keeping it a secret. Alice can tell me the future when you try to teach him, and if that doesn't work, then I will. And Edward will tell me when you're thinking about it, but if that doesn't work, then I'll do it myself." I explained, smirking at his defeated look.

"You really had this all planned out," he mused.

"Oh, yeah."

"I'm sorry," Carlisle cut in apologetically, "but how are you able to have a child and still show human qualities?" Expecting this answer, I grabbed Jr's baby bag, carefully pulling out the old book. When I handed it to the Doctor, his eyes widened in disbelief. "Where did you get this?" he gaped. "The last I heard all of the copies were destroyed by the Volturi!"

"Peter and Charlotte found the book in an old abandoned library, and we came to the conclusion that this is the author's first and ongoing copy," I explained to the man. Carlisle was simply in awe, turning the pages over with gentleness. "You can have it," I blurted out, "I don't really need it anymore and have the pages all memorised. Besides, I don't really have a safe place for it."

"Are you sure?" he asked worriedly. I nodded with a small smile.

"I have confidence that you will treat the book right and keep it safe," I stated. "Anyways, there's a chapter in there about me and what I am specifically. Believe it or not, there's more than just one type of vampire."

"Fascinating," Carlisle murmured, reading the chapter. He frowned, however, glancing to Jr in Jasper's arms. "There's not much on an infant, though."

"Yeah," I sighed heavily, caressing my son's head gently. "I don't think the author had time to record a baby's growth." Would he grow old? Be immortal?

"You're lucky to have a child, either way," Rosalie commented, envy evident in her voice and emotions.

"But it's a shame that normal vampires can't have any; those who want children," I said sympathetically. "I can see you obviously missed on that opportunity..." I glanced to her and Esme. "The both of you." I saw their history with my gift; it was sad how they became what they were...

"Would you like to hold him?" Jasper asked Rosalie, tearing me from my thoughts. Rosalie's face lit up, nodding eagerly to Jasper's question. It's been who knows how long since she has been near an infant.

She quickly flitted in front of us, arms held out eagerly to take the sleeping baby. Jasper carefully placed him in her arms after kissing his forehead, going back to my side to wrap both arms around me instinctively.

Rosalie went back to her seat with gentleness, Emmett swapping spots with Esme who wanted to coo over Jr as well. "Now..." I spoke up, looking to them with raised eyebrows. "What is this about a newborn battle going after our dear human?"
