Cedric's Wish

Warning. This chapter may make you cry. I cried while writing it. Especially at the part where Riley gave a speech at Cedric's funeral.

Riley's P.O.V.

I smiled while silent tears streamed down my face, George was sitting next to me, listening to the song with me. It was perfect. When it was over, I told George about all the memories I had of Cedric. Like when he punched a kid for making fun of me. He got is so much trouble but he didn't care. He was the best brother I have ever asked for. And that time he taught me how to fly on a broom and I was scared out of my mind so he stuck next to me the whole time. And on my birthday, after they heard me singing, he gave me a beautiful blue guitar with music notes on it. And that time when my cat died, he put a whole little ceremony for it. I just couldn't stop thinking about how it's never going to be the same. But he was there for me. And he gave me support and encouragement to do my best. I probably wouldn't be the person I am today without him.

That day at his funeral, I stood up to make my speech and said, "Cedric, if you can hear me right now, I want you to know that I forgive you. Even if you were a git and are no longer with me, you were the best brother I could've ever asked for. You gave me a reason to do my best. Because I wanted to make my big brother proud. I know that... that you would want me to keep going, and not get stuck in the past. And I'm Ok with that. But I'll never forget you."

I let a single tear flow down my cheek as I heard my mother sob.
