Two weeks had passed since the encounter with Afaan, and life had resumed its usual rhythm. The sunlit mornings had transformed into routine chaos, and today was no different.

"Wake up!" Adda ummi's voice thundered through the room, startling me from my slumber. I jumped up, wide-eyed, and somewhat disoriented.

"Adda ummi, you've disrupted my peaceful sleep again. What's the commotion about now?" I teased, fully aware that her wedding was fast approaching.

She smirked and replied, "You've got to wake up, you lazy bum. Amshar just called, and we need to go for the bridal fitting."

"Ah, another day, another series of endless stress," I groaned.

She chuckled, "I heard that, sassy pants. Now get ready, okay? Love you."

I got up grabbed my robe and hurried to the bathroom, As the water filled the jacuzzi, I couldn't resist singing my heart out. Yes, singing in the bathroom was my thing – come on, am I the only one who finds it strangely therapeutic? And I was all for emotional songs this morning.

My morning playlist ranged from slow Meddy songs to Let Me Love You. I checked the wall clock, which, yes, I had in my bathroom (weird, I know). It read 12:30, and I figured it was time to get out of the bath.

I donned my favorite ripped jeans, a white shirt, a maroon kimono, and a camisole scarf after a brief wardrobe tug-of-war. Armed with my black shades and a red Chanel bag, I was finally ready.

"Damn!" Adda exclaimed from the dining area. We had a close-knit and affectionate relationship with all my sisters, and we always had each other's backs.

"Hey, Ya Aisha," I turned to my cousin, who was also Adda's best friend. "Between us, who do you think overdressed?" I asked.

Ya Aisha shook her head with a smirk, "You guys are just drama queens."

"And Ya Scarlet, you look stunning. When did you arrive? Where are my babies?" I bombarded her with questions. (I had a nickname for every member of my family and that was her nickname)

She chuckled, "Which question should I answer first? Hayda is with mommy, and Hayna is sleeping."

"Why is my Hayna sleeping? I miss her. I'm waking her up Allah, let me greet mommy first," I said, ignoring Ya Aisha's protests to wake Hayna.

"Good morning, sweet mother," I called as I entered her room.

She responded with a smile, "Wa'alaikum salam, Afra. Look at how your daughter is looking at you. When will you ever grow up?"

"Never, Mommy," I declared playfully. I then made my way to Hayda. "Baby, can't you see your mommy?"

Hayda giggled as I pinched her nose, her adorable baby voice chiming in, "Good morning, Amma."

"Morning, Habibty," I said, showering her with affection. Then, I left Hayda to her Barbie dolls.

"Mommy, did you sleep well?" I asked.

"Yes, I did, Afrah. Have you eaten?"

"No, I'm about to. How about you? Let me go downstairs before they skin me alive," I said, rushing down to join my siblings.

I found Ya Aisha chatting on the phone with Ya Ibrahim Even though they're my couple crush they can be quite irritating at times, they were just together a few minutes ago and they're already on the phone, Adda ummi was by the side engrossed in her phone, likely chatting with Areef. I grabbed my plate of chocolate pancakes stuffed with Nutella, whipped cream, and blueberries. I wolfed them down swiftly, enjoying every decadent bite.

"Afrah, why do you always have to be late?" Adda ummi lamented.

I sighed, offering a cheeky grin, "Remember, I'm African, 'African time' is allowed, and someone forgot to mention we were going for our fitting, remember?"

"Whatever, please hurry up. It's going to be a very busy day, and we're already late," she sighed in resignation, "So please, dig in."

I finished my meal promptly at 1 o'clock. "Let's get going!" I announced, and Adda ummi responded with a bemused sigh.

"Oh, finally, the queen is ready. And you're driving," she declared, tossing me the car keys. I chuckled, they both had a thing against driving. We headed out, cruising in Adda ummi's Benz, the rhythmic beats of Olamide's "Motigbana" playing.
