I hissed and drove off. I was glad, though, after the charade I pulled. And although I don't like Afaan, I'll make him pay for bringing a woman into our matrimonial home, that's a promise. I'm more stubborn than you can imagine. I pulled up at the Miko's house, and cute, bubbly girls rushed to my car. Zara sat in the front, while Zuhra and Amnah were in the back. Furry drove another car with Iman, Harry, and Zulaikha.

I wasn't really listening to their chatter because I was hell-bent on the revenge I planned for Afaan. Zara nudged me.

"Earth to Adda!" she giggled, and I rolled my eyes.

"Zara, I thought I told you to stop calling me Adda," I replied as I parked my car in the huge supermarket lot.

"Look, girls, I'm going to give you each a list because I know how you girls are. I'll start looking for you and won't find any one of you. Zuhra and Amnah, you're getting the chicken ingredients. Zulaikha and Iman, you're getting the spices and dessert ingredients. Zara and Harry, you're coming with me. We'll meet at this spot by 4:45. Got it?"

"Yes, ma'am!" they all chorused, saluting.

It's literally 5:45, and I haven't seen any of the girls. Right now, Zara was dragging me into a boutique to shop. Zara kept commenting that I lacked fashion sense and needed to look sexy for my husband. She knew everything going on between me and her brother and had vowed to help, although I didn't expect her to get involved this quickly! 😂

Five minutes later, we were arguing.

"Zara, what's your problem? You're acting possessed! Something is definitely wrong with your brain. How on earth would I wear this and walk around the house?" I exclaimed, throwing the lingerie back at her.

"Okay, fine, Afrah, but wallahi, I'm buying them with or without your consent," she said, scooping them up and scurrying away

At 6:00 PM, we finally finished everything. We gathered at the parking lot and drove back home. As I stepped out of the car, I prayed to God that Afaan had gotten rid of that woman. If not for anyone else, at least for his dignity and self-respect.

I turned the knob on the door gently and said my salam. He was sitting on the couch with his laptop in his lap, watching a movie and sipping something, He looked so peaceful.

"Salammm!" the girls shrieked, pulling me back to reality, and he turned to look at us.

He grinned when he saw his sister and cousins and I smiled a smile of relief.

"Ya Afaan, come and help us with these groceries please! Adda made us run marathons today , my feet are killing me ," Amnah chirped.

"You girls are strong, you can manage," he smirked, turning back to his movie.
