Chapter 44

Xyzzy's POV

"Raven? Kaya mo na ba'ng magluto?" I asked him with a smile.

"Ih! Ate 'di ba nag-promise ka na magluluto ka ngayon ng spicy garlic-buttered shrimps?" Raven said with a frown and tiredly sits on the couch.

Kakarating lang namin lahat galing school, today's Thursday and Raven should be the cook but I think I will be.

I nodded. "Okay. Pero tutulungan mo 'ko ha?"

he's about to nod when Zahir butted in.

"Oy! Ate, hindi 'yan nagligpit ng higaan kanina! Katulong eh!" Nanghahamon na naman na sabi ni Zahir.

Ayan na naman sila.

"Ba gago ka! Ate alam mo ba? Na-late 'yan kanina. Galing pa sa building ng mga grade 12!" Sagot naman ng isa at tumayo na.

All of us are staring at both of them, digesting their judgments against each other.

"Nadaan lang ako do'n! Hindi ako tumambay doon!" Zahir answered, stepping closer to Raven.

"Eh? Nadaan? Pinuntahan mo kamo si Annalie."

"And who is that Zahir?" I butted. "Was that the girl I saw you've been following before?"

"Tsk. Nonsense to listen to those kids' naughtiness." Brile said in boredom as he walks through the stairs.

Nainis naman si Zahir at Raven sa sinabi ni Brile, malamang dahil sa words na naughtiness at kids but they didn't say a word.

"Wala talaga minsan kwenta bibig ng kapatid mo." Rain said to Breii and Breii just laughed.

"Zahir?" Tanong ko ulit at naghintay ng sagot.

He glared at Raven before holding his nape. "Ito kasi lakas makasalita eh! Palibhasa bwisit na bwisit sa'yo si Arianne."

I again raised my eyebrow for that.

Hindi naman nagsalita si Raven at umakyat na rin sa taas.

"Raven babalik ka ha? You will help me." I reminded and he answered with a 'yeah'. "So? Zahir who is Annalie?"

"She's someone to me." He simply answered.

I smiled. "Okay. But make sure she will not be a hindrance to your studies."

Tumango lang naman ng may ngiti bago umakyat din.

"Anything you want to say?" I asked the rest of them.

Umiling si Aki at umalis na rin.

I looked at Breii and he shook his head before leaving.

"Rain?" I asked.

"Uhm... nevermind. Bukas nalang." And he left.

"Zaine?" I gently asked him.

He smiled. "You look very happy."

That was all he said before leaving me mouth open. I know there is something with his smile. I'm starting to feel guilty. Should I be?

"Hoy Brile? Hindi ka pa aakyat?" I heard Breii said so I walked to the living area to know what is going on.

We just finish eating dinner, Raven's washing the dishes and the rest of them are pacing to their rooms.

"I will stay here for the night. Nabwibwisit ako sa inyo sa taas." Brile harshly answered and rolled his eyes.

Kalian ba sumagot ng maayos ang taong 'to? He's always that cold and grumpy.

"Eh baka naman tatakas ka lang ha?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes at me again. "The doors are also locked from the outside. Now tell one good strategy to get out of this house."

Umiling nalang kami ni Breii at umakyat na rin. Bahala siya doon.

Before I can even get inside my room, I received a text message.

Movies later? Don't lock your door.

And it came from the person who will be staying at the couch. Realization hits me... may balak pala talaga siyang pumunta sa kwarto ko mamaya.

I stared at the screen for seconds as I think. I never slept with a guy. I should be nagging, snapping at him right now but my stupidity hits so I replied 'okay' and gets in the room. I don't know what gotten into me but I know I also want to be with him.

There's really something about that arrogant and rugged boy. He's annoying but he's also irresistible. I hate him but I want to be with him. Ugh!

I finish taking a shower just before Mr. Nick called. We talked for about twenty minutes as I report to him the behavior and changes to his grandsons. And somewhat he was happy for the improvement. But it made me sad also. Darating at darating pa rin talaga yung panahon na iiwan na nila 'ko.

Gumawa na rin ako ng mga requirements kahit hindi pa bukas ang passing because honestly, college is not easy. You really have to maximize your time. 

After doing such, I stood to turn off the light when the door swings open and he walks in. Good thing the lamp is not off.

"At bakit 'yan lang ang suot mo?" I asked the moment he closed the door.

He's wearing a plain white shirt that made him look so neat and handsome. But he is also, only wearing a gray pair of shorts.

He rolled his eyes and walked past me. "Ano'ng gusto mo? Jeans? Pantulog?" He laid on the bed and made himself comfy.

I faced him after I made sure the door is locked. "Sana manlang hindi boxers ang suot mo."

He smirked. "Babe, sweat shorts na nga 'to. Buti nga may T-shirt pa 'ko. Kating kati na 'kong maghubad at manghubad." He winked playfully. 

Kinuha ko yung laptop at tumayo sa kabilang side ng bed with a blank expression. "Berde talaga utak mo 'no?"

He chuckles, sat up, holds me by my waist and kissed my tummy that made me flinch. "I would love to put a little Mendoza inside your sexy stomach."
