Super without powers?

You ran out the door as fast as you could, with your sister following close behind. Without a plan or super powers you wondered how were you going to rescue your dad let alone assist your teammates. After a few minutes you stopped running, you felt your heart pounding painfully against your chest as you struggled to breathe, your knees wobbled before giving out, causing you to fall down. For the first time in your life you experienced what is known in the medical field as 'fatigue'. Tears welled up in your eyes as you felt completely useless without your powers, you felt so weak. You slammed your fist onto the ground as you uttered several curse words.

(S/n) caught up to you without breaking a sweat. Between the two of you (S/n) always had excellent stamina and was much faster when you didn't have your super speed. She grabbed your arm and tried to help you up. "Come on (Y/n)," (S/n) grunted as she struggled to lift your body, due to her lack of physical strength and your stubbornness. "We've got to keep moving...everyone's counting on us!"

You yanked yourself out of her grip and pushed her to the ground. You may not be the fastest under normal circumstances but you were definitely the strongest out of the two of you. "And do what (S/n)?!" You yelled in frustration as you towered over your little sister. "What are we gonna do when we show up at Eggman's lair? Casually ask him to let dad go?"

You felt terrible inside, seeing your little sister on ground and on the verge of tears, once again your temper got the better of you. A soft sigh escaped your lips, you didn't expect an answer from her as you already knew that she was just as lost as you were. You extended your hand for her to take as you apologized.

She stared at your hand for a second before smacking it out of her face. She immediately stood up and dusted her self off, all while giving you a dirty look. "Whatever." She said as she spun her heel and continued on to Eggman's lair.

"(S/n)! What are you doing?" You called after her. She looked over her shoulder and yelled back, "Unlike you I'm not quitter! And I'm saving dad, with or without your help!" And with that she continued to run until she wasn't visible anymore.

You were annoyed by your sisters tendency to rush into things without thinking, but if anyone is to blame it would probably be you. After a short pause you decided to meditate, sensei would always instruct you to do so whenever you felt anger, sadness and any other negative emotions. It would always work so you sat down with your legs crossed and your eyes closed. You focused on your breathing taking a steady pace as you wondered what sensei would do in your situation.

"I'm so lost sensei, what should I do?" You asked the noisy wind that filled your ears. Suddenly, your ears picked up the sound of someone walking towards you. Your heart nearly jumped as you wondered if it was who you thought it was. As soon as you opened your eyes they were filled with disappointment. There, stood in front of you was that annoying aqua coypu (I thought he was a teal beaver lol) you met on your first day on Bygone island. Dave the intern.

"Who are you talking to?" He asked in his annoying whiny voice. You felt a huge temple vein forming on your forehead, it wouldn't be long before you lose your temper again. But instead you took a deep breath and calmed yourself down....sorta.

"None of your business. Now get lost!" You snarled through your teeth. The buck-tooth teen just shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly and left. You closed your eyes and went back to meditating. Shortly after, you heard another noise. Thinking that it was probably Dave again, you told him off...or so you thought.

"Didn't I tell you to get lost? What are you doing back here?" You asked with hostility and while keeping your eyes closed. "You need to be more respectful towards your elders young lady." As soon as you heard sensei's voice you jumped out of your skin. You opened your eyes and rubbed them to make sure that weren't seeing things.

There she was, floating in front of you like the ghostly spirit that she now was. "Sensei?" You asked, she nodded in response to assure you that she was indeed herself. You suddenly felt overjoyed to see her as you jumped up and reached out for a hug only to go right through her spirit form and smack yourself into a tree. You fell down to the ground and groaned in pain as sensei let out a little chuckle.

"Tell me child, what troubles you?" She asked in a sweet motherly tone. You told her everything. How you and (S/n) both lost your powers and how you needed help on saving your dad.

"I feel so weak sensei. I just want my powers back. Because, I'm nothing without them." You said in a sadden tone. Sensei has never seen you look so defeated, she knew she what needed to do.

"Dear child," she held your cheek, making you look at her as she gave you words of encouragement. "Your powers don't define who you are. You are super without them."

"Super...without powers?" You repeated softly. She nodded. You suddenly realized something, the physical contact between you and sensei gave you a surge of powerful energy. Then it hit you, an idea!

"Hey Sensei, how would you like to go on a kick butt adventure?" You asked her with a sly smirk.   

She smiled back. "I would be more than happy to assist you anyway I can."
