Should I stay?

"...So basically that's what happened." You concluded, bringing everyone up to speed. Well, everyone except Knuckles, who just kept asking questions about why the author is taking too long to update each chapter. Thankfully, no one payed him any mind whenever he breaks the fourth wall.

As you rested your feet up on the coffee table Sonic seated himself next to you and placed an arm around your shoulder.

"That's cool. I'm just glad you're back." He says with a warm loving smile. You returned the smile with an equal amount of tenderness while affectionately head butting him.

"Oww!" You yelped, feeling a sudden jolt of pain in your forehead. Those pesky sharp quills turned your smile into a scowl as you rubbed your forehead. Sonic quickly retracted his arm and ran to the kitchen cupboard to grab a plastic bag. He then opened the freezer door to put ice cubes in it, before wrapping it up in a towel. He sped back over to you with the ice filled towel as a small sheepish grin formed on his face.  Your angry glare was replaced with a playful grin as you snatched the ice towel from him and placed it on your forehead for some sweet cool relief. You let out a small relaxed sigh from the cold contact.

"Feeling better princess~?" Sonic teased, unable to keep himself from laughing at the situation. That mischievous smile never left your face as you responded with, "Of course, dear." Shortly after, you punched his arm which caused him to fall over in pain.

"Ouch." Sonic groaned as he fell to the ground. "What was that for?" He narrowed his eyes at you while rubbing his arm where you punched him.

"It's your fault for...being so pointy." You sassed as you stuck your tongue out at him.Sonic stood up and shrugged nonchalantly. "Not my fault you don't have thicker skin." He quipped.

As the two of you continued your flirtatious banter, your dad brought attention towards himself with an awkward cough. The two of you blushed after realizing that you are in the presence of company. There was an awkward pause before your dad spoke up. "Honey, I'd like to thank you for saving me and your sister," he quickly shot a glance at Sonic before turning his eyes to you. "Now pack your things so we can leave."

Your eyes widened in shock. "What? Why?" You whined. "Don't you remember me saying that you and your sister would stay here for a year or until you got your powers under control?" He asked. When he got a clueless shrug from you he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose in annoyance. "You know, first day on the island?"

Amy took it upon herself to usher everyone out of Sonic's shack. "Come on guys, let's give them some privacy." She said whilst shoving the gang out the door. "Aww, but Amy," Knuckles whined. "I wanna hear." With a forceful push, Amy managed to throw the towering red echidna to the ground. "Ouch! Geez Amy take it easy." Knuckles grumbled as he got up and dusted himself off. Amy let out a nervous giggle as you, (s/n) and your dad all just stared at her. "Don't mind us, please carry on with your normal dysfunctional human family conversation." She cheekily smiled before closing the door behind her.

You rolled your eyes at her little snarky comment, you noted that your new so called friendship with her is gonna take some getting used to. Before your dad had a chance to continue the door flung open, causing both you and your family members to turn all attention to the blue hedgehog who walked in. "Sorry guys," Sonic awkwardly apologized as he zipped around his shack, seemingly trying to find something. "There you are!" He declared triumphantly as he snatched his brown scarf from behind the fridge. How that thing found it's way behind a fridge will forever be a mystery.

With his signature scarf wrapped up around his neck Sonic made his way towards the exit, but not before giving you a quick kiss on the cheek on his way out. Once he closed the door behind him your face felt like it was on fire as you sank lower into the sofa from embarrassment. After what seemed like a good 5 minutes of awkward staring your dad finally spoke. "Okay (Y/n), seeing as how you still have your powers and (S/n) doesn't," He paused and took a deep breath. "I think it maybe best if you stayed here and continued your training." He concluded. You silently cheered in your mind, happy that your dad changed his mind about you leaving. Even though your sister wasn't happy with idea of going back home, she was mature enough to understand that it was probably for the best.

"Tell Tails I love him!" (S/n) dramatically cried as she threw her arms around you in a tight hug. You rolled your eyes as you tried to get out of her strong vice grip. "You can tell him yourself when you leave." When did she get so strong?

After a few hours, a helicopter arrived on the island to pick up your dad and sister. Once they said their goodbyes, (S/n) took the opportunity to give Tails a quick peck on the cheek before hopping in the helicopter. The two tailed fox blushed as he asked or rather begged her to call him once she arrived home safely. Once off the ground you waved at the chopper as it got smaller and smaller into the distance. "Bye." You said.
