When your heart pauses
So many things it causes
You're left speechless
With this vulnerability of weakness
You numb out the pain
The turmoil in your brain
Blocking it all out
To go a different route
Through the motions you go
Everything goes slow
Staring off into space
While the world around you is at a fast pace
Your spirt is in hiding
The numbness is overriding
Throughout the days
It always stays
The lights are on but nobody's home
