My mother told me to keep it all in,

Never share how I feel or think,

She was sure that desire led to sin,

Yet, she knew life was meant to be pink.

Grandmother sai, "Be a wolf" girlie,

Men will eat you alive if you are gentle,

Better be the one who attacks early,

Or else mistakes won't be accidental.

Uncle taught me to joke around,

It was his attempt to make me lighter,

But I still can't get rid of my frown,

When I remember that, I'm their fighter.

Auntie told me to feel a certain  love,

And only give in with a warranty,

She liked my heart because it was tough,

I couldn't find that kind of loyalty.

My father was the only one,

Who stood there without a word,

His eyes yelled at me "RUN",

As grandfather handed me his sword.
