"I popped this situation into my mouth, one that I had been staring at through the candy store window for very long. Though, the electric taste I expected didn't attack my taste buds. I couldn't help but keep chewing, chewing and chewing, but the taste wasn't going to change. Not unless I did first."

A weekend full of confusion it was. A week full of confusion that you didn't want to solve.

You subconsciously chewed on your cheek while staring at someone in the mirror you failed to believe was actually yourself.
"So you must like it, huh?" Mina probed.
You smiled at yourself, a canvas painted on by the oh so talented Mina. "Yeah...I don't think I've looked this good...In..-" Mina snorted. "A hot minute! Not to be backhanded, but it really is true, Y/N. I knew you would work this look, but I didn't expect you to ace it in no time. You've really got a charm, Y/N, you just need Rosy eye shadow and just the right amount of highlighter to let it come out."

You smiled at her. "Thank you, Mina...It really does mean a lot...I would be a mess without you." You confessed. She shrugged and snapped her makeup bag shut. "Oh, I know~" She winked at you. You couldn't help but roll your eyes; but really. She made you look like a stage ready K-pop idol in this moment. You carefully tucked a strand of wavy hair behind your ear, hair that your best friend prettied up for this occasion. You were wearing a white sweater tucked in to a burgundy skater skirt that had been resting at the bottom of your closet for much too long. You couldn't deny it completed your features.

This particular sweater exposed your shoulders, which Mina described as a 'cute tease' as opposed to the alternative chest area that you desperately avoided. Your heart was racing and the butterflies in your stomach nearly threatened to burst out at this rate.
Ding Dong.
The doorbell? Oh, god, the doorbell. You took a shaky breath and mustered up a quaint smile before pacing out of the bathroom, down the narrow corridor, and down the staircase with a spring in your step. You heard a small padding of footsteps hurrying towards you.

"Y/N!!! Wait!!!"

You gently sighed and turned around on the landing of the stairs upon Mina's call. She leaped to stand in front of you. Mina giggled like a little girl and took something from behind her back to rest on the top of your head. A flower crown laced with dark roses. She fixed it to fit nicely, and excitedly hopped up and down. "There, finished! He'll love it, for sure." She gave you a smile so bright, it was blinding. You spun to walk closer to the door, your boots with a small heel clacking against the wood tiles of your main floor. You took a deep breath once only inches from the door. "Oh, Y/N!"

"Would you like me to retrieve a carrot as a gift for him? That'll surely make him happ-"

"SHUT UP!" You hissed.

You could hear her chuckling up a storm from behind you, and you shook your head. Once the right amount of courage surged through your veins, you opened the front door, and oh,
There he was.
Clad in a creamy button up shirt, black skinny jeans, and a long flowy striped cardigan; and oh god,
The delicious casual exposure of his collar bone due to the buttons not being done all the way.
You could faint on the spot.
This man looked heavenly, and you didn't falsely deny it this time. You had nothing to hide.
