(F/A/N) POV:

"Welcome to the Coolsville Pet Adoption Fair. Open your hearts to an adorable puppy, kitten or adult pet. They don't get any cuter than these little guys,"

Hi. My name is (F/A/N) and as you can see, I'm a (F/A). And like the guy on the Mic said, it's the Pet Adoption Fair. They got a lot of cute little pets here, including yours truly. And that's not all, I'm actually a talking (F/A). Messed up, I know, but hey, at least I can talk to people, making it easier to tell people what I'm thinking than having them guess. Also, I have a (F/C) collar around my neck with my name on it, so everyone knows what I'm called.

"Here they are. Meet our pets of the day, Scoobert Doo, and his friend (F/A/N). They're very affectionate. And they'd bring a lot of joy to any family. And if you take in one of them, you can get the other for free,"

That's Darwin. He works here, helping animals like myself get adopted by a nice family. And like he said, me and Scoobert are pals. See, I was born as a stray and was even abandoned by my family of (F/A) and was all on my own until the day Darwin and his coworkers took me in to help get me adopted. That's when I met Scoobert, and we had been the best of pals since.

"Are you kidding? Those things look like they would eat us out of house and home," the woman says, looking at me and Scoobert with disgust.

She takes her kid with her, and walks away.

Seeing this makes Scoobert shake his head. "No, no, no, no," he pleads.

I place my paw/claw/etc (don't know what your favorite animal is) on his shoulder. See, Scoobert and I are decent enough to become someone's pets, but people always seem to judge us, mostly Scoobert. Why, I don't know. But one thing is for sure, is that I refuse to get adopted, not without Scoobert, especially since we think of each other as siblings.

He's my best friend after all, and I refuse to leave him behind or abandon him to save my own skin. Wherever he goes, I go, simple as that. I mean, he's practically the only one who understands me just as much I understand him. That's how strong our friendship is.

"Maybe next time, Scoobert," I say, trying to cheer up my friend, which works a little.

"(F/A/N) is right. Don't worry, Scoobert, I have a feeling  that you and (F/A/N) are finally gonna get adopted today, I just know it,"

Hearing our words of encouragement must have really cheered up Scoobert, because he smiled and started to wag his tail. As soon as Darwin left, me and Scoobert started looking around to see if anyone might take an interest in adopting us. Some people did take a glance at us, but just walked past us, not interested, much less considering on adopting us. Scoobert tried to do a friendly gesture by saying hello but when that didn't work, he then started to do silly tricks, like showing signs that read "housebroken", "good with kids", and "hypoallergenic".

When that didn't work either, he took it to a little bit of an extreme by balancing his bone on his nose, balancing a plate on a stick in each paw and another plate with his tail, and spinning three hula-hoops around his waist, all at once. I'll admit, Scoobert can be goofy at times, but that's what makes me glad to have him as a friend. He always made me laugh whenever I was sad. Back when I was small, and still depressed about being abandoned by my family, he was always there to cheer me up and make me smile.

"That one. I want that one, Daddy. And the (F/A), too!" says a little girl.

Her dad sighs. "This is the last time I tell you you can get anything you want,"
