Note: How well Jae Son can dance is above
(After she is discharged and has met all her family members who believe her facade of having all her memories)
Kai drove me back and we listened to some new interesting music. There was Grammy-winning K-pop and some oldies like Michael Jackson.
Suddenly a new song began to play.
Weird, this was familiar but new.
Kai took his hand and put it on my lap.
Out of instinct I grabbed it.
"What song is this?" This felt like a déjà vu.
"It's by Mike and-"
"Don't tell me Joshua Crew is in it?" Our first car ride was like this.
"Yeah-wait come to think of it, it seems like you remember our first meetings pretty well. Was I just so irresistible that you could never forget my sexiness?" He turned at me and wiggled his eyebrows before looking back to the road.
I squeezed his hands and whispered "Jae Son's in the car!"
"Don't worry, Jae Son is very mature. Now aren't you?" He looks back through the rear view and smiles at Jae Son who giggles.
"Don't worry mommy, daddy's just flirting." Jae Son continues giggling.
"Jae Son, your daddy told me that you take dance classes, you have straight A's, and you want to be a doctor in the future? He also explained that you like to play soccer and you play flute and drum kit? Are you a prodigy or what?"
"Before I answer that, mommy does prodigy mean genius? If it means genius then I am not one. But, I want to be a doctor because mommy saves people and daddy said that mommy saved him. Also, I really like soccer and I want to quit flute and play guitar. My drum kit teacher said I would be better at that, but I want to continue playing drums." What type of five-year old was this smart?
We finally arrived to the door and Kai opened it and welcomed me in.
A few minutes later, the bell rings.
"Ethan what are you doing here?" I ask confused.
"I'm here to bring Jae Son to the tutor centre. Kai called me because he didn't want to leave you alone." I smiled and welcomed him in but he rejected so I bellowed for Jae Son.
"Baby, come downstairs!" I yell.
What did I just say? "Baby?" It that what I used to call Jae Son.
"Mommy the medicine you made is really useful. They are taking effect. That's why you remember my nickname." I didn't even know that I was taking the drugs I had created in the future.
Kai came from the kitchen to the front and began talking with Ethan.
"Jae Son, your daddy has told me that you need to go to math tutoring with Ethan-your uncle so grab your stuff and get going."
He already had his stuff and began to make his way out.
He ran back and hugged me.
"Mommy, I am so happy that you are back. Daddy and I were so lonely without you. Daddy told me you don't remember me, but I will make you remember." I pulled back and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
He waved goodbye and left.
Kai closed the door and looked at me fiercely.
"Where's my kiss?" He smirks. It's times like this he reminds me of Ignacia.
"There won't be one until you tell me what's going on." I had my hands on my hips as if to show I was in control, but Kai threw his head back and chuckled.
"So there will be a kiss..." He winked and sat down on the sofa. I didn't even realize that he had brought in a stack of videos to show me.
"Let's get started...from the beginning?"
"I don't know what story you want to know, but I will tell you our love story. This gives me some how I met your mother and some sci-fi futuristic movie vibes. I know you must be confused, but thank god for the sedatives and your neuroplasticity drugs that you aren't voicing your confusion."
I laugh. He looked so cute. But not in the way Jae Son was cute... but in a way when a guy tries to talk to the girl he likes for the first time.
His hair looked soft.
Focus! I needed to know how Kai had basically became my husband.
I mean he seemed to have met all my criteria for us to get married, but I was still confused about how Jae Son was born.
Not the part about sex between two individuals, but the part about how I could afford to waste almost a year and a half of my life with a baby in my uterus.
"You remember our first encounter..."
"Yeah, up to the point where we were research partners. My last memory is riding home from my parents' dinner with Ethan and Ignacia. I felt sleepy so I leaned my head against Ignacia's shoulders." Everything after that was like a white canvas.
"Well, let's start from the following day."
