"ah... broadcast... yeah." the boy answered the phone, lack of sleep seeping through every vowel.

being woken up at 3pm by the annoying sound of a buzzing phone was always jongin's expertise. he was a light sleeper, that's why he usually would overdo everything he did, so he could sleep easily.

he was the one who usually received the phone calls from their manager during weekends and holidays for that fact.

he sent a quick message to their group-chat saying they'll have a radio broadcast tomorrow and waited until he fully woke up to start his day.

jongin still lived in the dorms with junmyeon and jongdae, all the other members had got their own homes by now. jongin always thought that junmyeon's only reason for not moving out himself was to keep jongin company, while jongdae was too lazy to find an apartment and preferred to be closer to the company.

jongin had urged junmyeon to move out soon, since jongin was still in the process of finding a house himself (mostly to not burden junmyeon) but the leader insisted he would only move out once jongin was settled on his new (currently non-existing) house.

he made his way to their kicthen and started to prepare breakfast for himself since he didn't think anyone would be waking up now like himself.

in the middle of making eggs he heard the door open and turned his head to the sound, his eyes being met with junmyeon's cheery smile and at least 15 bags from different stores.

"i, eh, did a little shopping today." junmyeon said, his hand reaching up to scratch the back of his head but then leaving it down since the bags were too heavy to do so.

"i see." jongin chuckled, bringing his attention back to his egg.

junmyeon announced he would put the bags on his room and after doing so, he sat down on the counter next to the fridge to watch jongin cook.

"hey, have you seen the news lately?" junmyeon quietly asked, knowing that he had to talk about this now rather than later.

"not really, didn't feel like putting myself down." jongin shrugged.

"uh" junmyeon gulped, "sehun and baekhyun.."

jongin turned off the fire and slid the egg to his plate.

"and?"

"they're apperantely in seoul, right now."

jongin stopped the oncoming fork that he was bringing to his mouth and through the corner of his eyes he looked at junmyeon.

"dispatch released it today, fans are going crazy, but they're not talking anymore about... that" junmyeon continued.

jongin hummed and started eating again.

he wasn't going to let this get to him like it did in the first time. it was all a shock, to all the members, but they got used to it.

"yeah. good for them."

exo's dinner night was very much respected.

every week, the members would get together in a restaurant and just hang out. it was a way of relief the stress through the week.

the company respected it too, if they called sm beforehand to tell the day they would do this, their staff would cancel all their appointments that designated day so they can just keep sane.

with all the dancing, co-ordinating, hair dying and vocal lessons, they were practically robots by now, but this is what reminded them they were still young adults on their early 20s (at least some of them.).

"so, did you guys receive any messages from sehun or baekhyun?" jongdae brought up while they were having a pretty chill conversation about walruses.

"pft. as if! sehun only ever texted me back if i had texted him first. ungrateful brat" chanyeol shook his head.

"what about you jongin? did sehun text you? you guys were pretty tight back then." yixing asked.

"not that tight, if we were so called best friends he would've at least told me about-"

"past waters. no need to bring it back without their presence here." junmyeon stepped in before jongin could give a piece of his mind.

"chill hyung. we're not mad about it anymore, it's all in the past, we all moved on, they're still welcome back if they want to come back. it's all good." yixing answered, taking a sip of his drink which it's name jongin couldn't pronounce.

"if they were so keen on coming back to us, they would've at least told us that they were back from osaka." jongin sighed and took a sip of his drink, deciding to not acknowledge the pity looks on his friends' faces.

"anyway, today is all about letting go of all the things around us and stuff our organisms with alcohol." jongin cleared his throat and stood up with a drink in hand, "so let's not talk about our problems and focus on how delicious was the food we just ate. cheers to whoever invented alcoholic drinks!"

"cheers!"
