"Showtime."

Adrenaline runs up my spine, I haven't been able to do something like this since the end of middle school. Ever since my partner in crime became the student body president. What a loser.

Four animal cages are lined up against the main doors, containing various breeds of cats and dogs. After flicking the locks open, the adventurous creatures begin running around the common area, meowing and barking at everything. Some of them make their way up the stairs to greet the students on the second floor. Most of which seem pleased with the unexpected visitors, others maybe not so much. Watching as the students pick up the little animals, I almost didn't notice an angry blonde standing in front of me with arms crossed.

"What is all of this?!" Her high pitched voice pierces my eardrum.

Directing my attention to the pitchy girl, I lean against the wall and cross my arms to mirror her. "Oh don't you know?" I mock. "I thought the student body president would be aware of the animal fair today after classes. She did greet the shelter people outside, after all. Oh wait, that was me." I flash her a sarcastic smile. She's unable to respond to that.

Fueling the already large fire of fury, Skylar chimes in with, "Come on London, I thought you knew everything! Gosh Pres, you're really slacking today"

"Shut up, both of you!" She exclaims, throwing her hands around. Her gaze shifts over to me with narrowed eyes. "You impersonated me?"

"Yeah, wasn't that hard." I shrug. "Pitchy voice, over enthusiastic about literally everything, annoying as hell, you know, you." Cheap shot with easy insults, but it gets the job done and the conversation over faster.

Paris's narrowed eyes turn away from me in the form of an eye roll and land on my new partner in crime. "As for you," she says sounding very pissed and in-control "I already warned you about acting out. Prepare yourself for hell."

Before Skylar can answer, I decide to continue provoking her. "Aww, are you trying to give out death threats?" Her furious gaze shoots back to me. "That's not very presidential of you." My head tilts and I flick my eyebrows at her.

"Good luck with that, if anything I'll be driving you up the wall before you can even touch me." Skylar adds with a scoff. In response, Paris storms off, her tight ponytail swaying back and forth with every rage filled step.

"Nice work," I say to Skylar, turning my head to face her.

Before I can adequately enjoy my accomplishment, a deep voice resonates from behind me saying, "I think I'll be the judge of that." Turning my head slowly, I make dead eye contact with the one and only Alexander Lockwood, also known as the Deputy Dean of Scarlet Rose Academy. Not someone you want to mess with.

Suddenly all my adrenaline and excitement seem to dissipate with his deep brown eyes stabbing into mine."Who's responsible for this?" He says after what feels like an hour.

Before I could even try to respond, I hear Skylar's voice, "The numbskull over there." She says, pointing at me.

A gasp escapes my mouth as I immediately glare at the traitor to my right. "Please," I say, sarcastically. If we're going to play the blame game, I'm not going to let her give me all the blame. "She's the one that made the call. You could check her recent calls if you don't believe me." I glare at her sharply.

She turns to me and scowls, now speaking directly at me, yelling, "Hey! That was your idea since apparently none of mine satisfied you."

"You're the one that wanted to skip class!"
