AN: I had a schedule for updates and then that schedule left me soooo sorry for inconsistency? But enjoy the super long chapter as an apology!

Skylar~

As soon as I hit the last note, the bell rings. Unsurprisingly, Vanessa storms out madder than a hog but that was pretty expected. Quickly returning the guitar to its place and grabbing my bag, I make a move to dart out the door after the very angry Queen Bee but get stopped before I can get to far. Chloe pops up right in front of me with a shy grin. "Hey Skylar," she greets with a small wave. I give her a smile and nod in return, "Hey Chloe, what's up?" I ask, my gaze shifting over her shoulder. I can see Vanessa's storming down the hall, the students clearing like the Red Sea to stay out of her way.

"That performance was so good! I didn't know you played guitar" Chloe compliments, leaning against the door frame with one hand in her hair. I look back at her, shrugging faintly with a grin. "Yeah, I've played for awhile..." I respond, half listening now as Chloe jumps at remark, going off about music and singing and who knows what. Her eyes stay locked on mine and her hand never leaves her dark brown hair.

I wanted to know what Vanessa thought of the performance, besides the fact it had clearly pissed her off. That really wasn't too surprising but I figured if I talked to her enough she'd tell me what she really thought. Plus, for a moment, it seemed like she was enjoying the little show but I'd been moving around so much I wasn't sure if my eyes were lying to me or not. Why did it bother her so much that someone else of equal standing appeared? Sure it would upset any Queen Bee but man, Vanessa took it to an entirely new level that was fun to play with. I was very slowly starting to piece together random bits and pieces about the Ice Princess but some people weren't to keen on spilling her secrets in fear of getting frozen to death.

I frown a bit as Vanessa turns a corner, vanishing from sight. Well, there she goes. Ah I guess I'll have to find another time to chat with her. It was harder than one thought. Too persistent and she'd seriously get mad, but if I waited too long she would time to cool down and come back with her witty remarks.

"Would you like to go out sometime?" I blink as I focus back on Chloe who was still standing in front of me. I'd totally forgotten she was even there. "Pardon?" I ask giving a smile. "What were you thinking about instead of listening to me?" She asks in what seems like a joking tone, but also mildly offended. I just roll my eyes. Unfazed by my disinterest, Chloe continues to ask me questions. "Would you like to go out sometime? To run lines or something." I raise an eyebrow, "We don't have any lines to run yet." I point out. Chloe flushes awkwardly, struggling to recover from my rejection. "Oh, right," she says, "Would you like to go out anyway? Just for lunch or something if you're not busy" she tries again, her voice shooting up an octave.

I get the feeling she isn't going to go away until I say yes, but I didn't really want to. I have no interest in going out with people in the first place. It didn't ever really benefit me and usually end in girls sticking around and being far to annoying after. Call me cold and cruel but that's just how it is.

I was about to grudgingly agree when my phone buzzed. Using that as an excuse to prolong my answer, I check it and send a silent thanks to the gods because Sophia just gave me my way out. "Sorry, maybe another time. My friend needs help preparing for our upcoming test. See you tomorrow though!" I say, giving a rather lame excuse that wasn't even true. I don't wait around to hear Chloe's answer as I speed walk off, texting Sophia back.

Me: you just saved my ass

Sophia: you're welcome?

Me: thank youuuu, as thanks I'll treat you to coffee tomorrow?
