Chapter 11 - Prayer

"Aahhh!!!! P-please i-i'm not l-lyin-g"

Anna winced when the man next to him screamed in pain with a raspy voice when he was shot in the leg for trying to talk his way out.

'Serves you right, fucker'

She spat in her thoughts for the man beside him tried to place all the blame towards her and the other man who was captured.

Anna and the two men were brought to the President's office the day right after Zhu Huang was busted out. Anna could still remember that frightening moment when the President appeared before them.

She remembered that the one who was just shot in the leg was the only one who resisted among the 3 of them. The other man who looked like he was still in his early twenties followed timidly while she calmly followed for she knows that if she told the truth and abided to their orders she wouldn't be killed, after all she knows that Ye Jiang Li, the man who was supposedly dead 10 years ago's resurfacing again would cause a ripple towards the President...........

but it wasn't a ripple she received......

.......it was a fucking tidal wave.

As one of the very few people who commonly interact with Ye Jiang Li, Anna also manages to interact with the common friends of the man, even if Ye Jiang Li's friends and she barely even consider each other as companions.

She at least manage to get to see and talk with them at least a few times. So she met the president when the demon was still a lamb.

"WhERe ArE thEy?"

Anna snapped her head up and felt dread seeped through her bones when the vicious voice called her out.

All of them were located in a stone cell deep below the AD Org. The ones who were with Anna right know was the 2 men who was also pulled into helping Ye Jiang Li, Commander Ling, Commander Wang and finally the President, Liu Wei.

Anna didn't dare look at the president right now and instead chose to look at the ground while she continued to kneel. She opened he mouth trying to for a proper response but instead it resulted into an unrecognizable stammering

"P-p-pre-si-siden-t I-I do n-not....w-well-l.....I-I sa-"

"CLEar yoUr VOicE"

With the orders of the president, Anna continued to try and make a decent reply but still couldn't. After at least a minute of mumbling, she heard someone sigh and look to see that it was Commander Wang.

The old man had a palm over his head pulling back his grey hair and bits of wrinkles over his eye as his frown was shown. Despite being in his 50's, Commander Wang was still dashing looking, like an old commander of knights who survived countless war.

'Ironic considering that every single one of us is an assassin, the word knightly is the least people will call us'

Anna bitterly thought to herself.

"President, if you would give me the permission to talk I would like to give you my insight"

Anna looked at Commander Wang like he was an angel sent by god.

Seeing the worshiping look on Anna's eyes, Commander Wang let out another sigh and faced the president.

The president lessened the bloodlust he was realising and tilted his sight towards the old man. Liu Wei's phoenix red eyes who seems to have darken to an almost shade of black, sent Commander Wang into a paralyze state due to fear but the commander of the east wing was having none of that as he steadied himself.

"President Liu, I think that none of this people currently knows the location of the assassin, Ye Jiang Li and the fact that he was still alive."

After the words left the old man's mouth he felt the bloodlust diminish but a new filling filled the air.

"Why do you think so, Wang Wei"

Having his full named called out, Commander Wang knew he dropped himself in thin ice.

"Because I know Ye Jiang Li's antics. That man likes to keep secrets and use them to the fullest and he appears to be carefree and cunning but deep inside his really insecure, so I really doubt he'd tell anyone of this fake passing unless his extremely close to them, perhaps people like Zhu Huang is one of them, but not Anna and these other 2"

Afterward an agonizing silence followed, but it was broken when a pissed sound of the president clicking his tongue.

Liu Wei then lifted his hand and pointed towards Anna and the timid man next to him

"Commander Wang, those 2 are still not allowed to be free until the intruders are out, I expect them to be under heavy security till then. For their punishment.........after the intruders are caught they are not allowed to get out of the Org. for a time span of 1 year"

Commander Wang nodded then bowed towards the president.

Liu Wei then turned his attention towards the 3 trembling victims of Ye Jiang Li. With cold calculating eyes he inspected them and turned around much to the relief of the assassins. But as the prideful and sly man who got his leg shot sighed in relief, his blood ran cold when the President spat out an order.

"But Mr. Chen will have to be eliminated"

The assassin named Chen then begun to flay around and screaming, begging for the presidents mercy and the unfairness of the situation.

But it only fell into deaf ears as the man was dragged out by 2 assassins that was called over.

With the last of the hysterical screams finally fading. Liu Wei faced Commander Ling and gave his orders

"Find them"

With those two words said, Liu Wei begun to walk towards the door but then stopped

"Unharmed"

He reminded, then exited the door without making a single sound with his footsteps.
Leaving Commander Ling in a shock state because of the presidents orders.

'W-wait unharmed......but they are intruders!'

Commander Ling thought then look over towards Commander Wang for explanation when he saw the old man with his mouth slightly hooked up but his eyes also shows uneasiness.

Leaving it as it is, Commander Ling decided that he could just ask the old man later and proceeded to guiding Anna and the other man out of the cell.

Leaving Commander Wang alone in the cell. The old man then took a deep breath and let it out.

Looking at the top of the ceiling, he mumbled out a small prayer

'God, I know that I have sinned and also the people around me, but please let this old man's prayer come true. So that our president can find a meaning for his life again. Thank you for giving us the blessing of knowing that Ye Jiang Li is still with us. So with all my heart I pray that he is also still alive, please let Shen Mo still be alive and come back to us.'

After praying Commander Wang silently exited the cell and closed the door gently, carrying with him is the sounds of his soft footsteps going farther away from the cell.

"If there is a will, god will find a way"

I am so sorry for not updating for a long time. Been so busy because its the end of the school year, and I swear our teachers are really trying to kill us with the amount of projects and performances they are making us make.

So the next update will probably be on april.
