Wonwoo never thought heartbreak was a real thing. It was only a temporary state of unhappiness caused by another person or thing. Heartbreak couldn't physically hurt you in anyway, just make your day a little harder.

The day he came home to you gone made him realize how true and real heartbreak was.

He came home to emptiness, house completely eradicated of any sign of you living there. The only remembrance of you in the house was a single handwritten note placed underneath the necklace he had given you a year ago.

"Dear Wonwoo, I don't think someone could ever love me-" Wonwoo read the note aloud, eyes brimmed with tears, "-When things get to good to be true, I run. You never really knew me like how well I knew you. Your birthday, your favorite songs, your dreams and ambitions. This is my letter goodbye, because I'm so selfish that I had to run before my heart fell in love. You'll find someone who loves you one day, instead of me; someone who wears people like jewelry."

By the time he had finished the note, he was bawling. Wonwoo had never collapsed to the floor in agony before but he felt as though his heart was being torn apart. Pins and needles pierced his skin just at the thought of you just up and leaving.

He had even planned to propose to later that week.

Now, he sat on the floor with tears flowing out of his eyes like waterfalls. His breathing was labored and his body was shaking. Wonwoo didn't even know he could feel like this. If drowning was a human emotion, he was sure that was what he was feeling. Sadness clouded all of his body's systems to the point it was hard to function; all he could do was just give in.

Heartbreak is an overwhelming distress that the body encounters. It is not an emotion that is sought after for one to feel. Heartbreak strikes when no one wants it to and the aftermath changes who you were completely.

While Wonwoo laid on the cold titled floor he knew just how much he loved you, and how this heartbreak would tear him apart from the inside out.
